Yes, the noise. It has become an issue in cities all over western Europe in the last few years. Young men posing with often rented cars creating a horrendous level of noise. And accidents due to street racing. Special police units were founded and some cities have implemented speedtraps that also detect noise. Noise traps if you want to put it like that.
In Germany police will pull you over, make standardized a noise meassurement and will confiscate your car on the spot if it is louder than stated in the registration papers. Even if its stock. At the police garage the car then will be inspected by an expert and if it turns out to be ok you get it back in a few days, if not you have to pay for everything, put it back to stock and pay a hefty fine. Also you usally get a driving ban for one to three months.
The US is a car drivers paradise.
