I try to take a very good care of my black GT but it seems to be a lost battle trying to prevent the car from getting all dusty.

I park the car in the garage (a tight one car garage) which is used only for that. (It's not a workshop)

And even though the car gets all dusty and dirty after a couple of days. I wash it, wax it and park in the garage and voilá, here comes the dust.

I bought a cover, a very good one by the way, but it's not very practical. It's too thick and heavy and i'ts a pain in the a** to cover and uncover the car everytime. And that thing is so hard to fold that I gave up about using it.

I though about hanging a garage filter on the ceiling - maybe this will help to clean up the air? I found this one at Amazon that has good reviews:

https://www.amazon.com/WEN-3410-3-S...systems+for+garage&qid=1726004420&sr=8-3&th=1

Any suggestions?

I cover it because I can't keep the door closed all the or get the garage clean enough.

Clean the garage very very well and seal up any place air/dirt can get in.

Consider a Reveal Car Cover. Not as heavy, easy on & off and protects the car when its in the garage. I use mine when car will be in garage a few days or more or I'm having work done and garage is open. I have a Covercraft one for when its put up for the winter.

Any use of a California duster or car cover one must know proper techniques to keep from damaging finish. I have used both for over 30 years on many of my cars without damage. I am super picky and have OCD when it comes to having a pristine looking vehicle. Having good a wax and ceramic coatings are always good. Some however will for some reason will attract dust more than others. I sometimes think I live in the dust capital of the world. Before I moved here from upstate NY it was the pollen capital.

it’s not clear to me how or why the dust is getting in there to begin with.
Are you leaving the outside/garage door open for long periods?
is it coming from indoors?
are there vents in/out of the garage?

if I leave the front door to my garage open for any amount of time, wind will blow all manner of stuff in, mostly oak tree leaves.

Consider a Reveal Car Cover. Not as heavy, easy on & off and protects the car when its in the garage. I use mine when car is car will be in garage a few days or more. I have a Covercraft one for when its put up for the winter.
I mean... A car cover can only keep so much New Jersey off of any car :p

I’m in pretty much year round drought restrictions, so my vehicles rarely get washed and are frequently quite dirty. A few times when I was up in VA, I had some subpar dusting experiences.

1) I’m 2 hours in to washing and waxing my Raptor, got 1 door and rear panel left and I hear my neighbor fire up his mower, blasting a cloud of dust everywhere...
2) But that was NOTHING compared to the city dweller neighbor who moved in across the street. He had no lawn equipment at all and hired lawn contractors. Just after Thanksgiving one year the contractors came with a large truck and the biggest leaf vacuum I’ve ever seen. 6 surrounding houses and all the vehicles around were coated with dust 1/8” thick. It was like pictures you see of volcanic dust...

Must be your geographical location. I live in Houston, and my car is garage kept, sometimes for 3-4 days and not a speck of dust.

Just put an old bed sheet. It will protect from dust and lightweight. Dust will sit on flat surface. No need to cover every inch. If i can found a picture of my cars i will post. I was leaving them in a warehouse for months like this.

If you think putting on and taking off a cover is a PITA, try living on a dirt road.

My DH is ceramic coated and I hand contact wash weekly ($1K setup similar to professional detailers use), but every time I leave the house, my first stop is the local hand wand car wash. I toss a couple bucks in, spray it down (rinse only mode), then get my Dewalt 20V blower and Stubby Nozzle out of the Rubbermaid container I keep in the trunk and dry it.

Every. Single. Time.

FIFY. I can create a dust storm that will blow around neighboring roads and properties for half an hour just mowing my lawn once the dry season hits. The dry season is March through February.

One of these days I’ve got do sink about 40 grand for a well so I can get the water tyrants off my @ss and keep most of the yard around the house at least passably wet . Last year was way worse - one Saturday AM a few of us close by had the same plan - get the grass cut before it was triple digits. There was almost a square mile of dust cloud.

Yesterday was the first time since July my Dark Horse got a bath ( that wasn’t courtesy of God ). It lasted maybe... 10-11 miles before being covered in a fine coat of dust.

Been there, done that. Eight years in or west of Houston, most of it away from paved roads.

CLIMATE CHANGE..........🤔
Been happening for billions of years.
I did my part to increase my carbon footprint by passing a pr!us slow rolling in a 65 zone Saturday. I was careful to use judicious amounts of throttle to ensure any hypermiling improvement they were getting was more than offset by the amount of exhaust my Mustang generated.

hypermiling prius drivers. A pox be upon them and all they know.

@smurfslayer You actually found a Prius rolling slow? Here they speed at least 15 or more above the limit. Some are even wearing a mask while being the only one in the car.😂
