When the manufacturer maintains the vehicle it’s more difficult to point fingers.

Getting back to making you feel good. Can't help with that. Maintenance/extended warranty plans are almost always a waste of money for the consumer, and hugely profitable for the seller. Otherwise they wouldn't be selling them.

Waste of money, maybe, if the warranty is never used, and that's a flip of the coin. I've had extended warranties (Ford ESP) on my last 3 vehicles and so far have only had to use it once. Some repairs a very expensive, some not. I prefer to pay a little now than a lot later. Comes down to peace of mind and what looks reasonable.

Peace of mind and me turning 70. I got 100,000 mile full warranty and 20 oil changes, every 5,000 miles for a total price of 4018.00. Well worth it to me. Getting too old to get under the car.

My finance guy is a huge Mustang fan and gave me 8 year bumper to bumper warranty at 0 profit to the dealer, undercoat, electronic rust protection paint protection, and interior protection with a 10 year paint defect and surface rust/perforation warranty at his cost. All said and done I think it was around 6k Canadian rubles to basically guarantee the thing will not have a spec of rust nor a paint chip on it for 10 years. He was really happy to see someone finally wanting to winter drive a Stang and he wanted to help me keep it as protected as possible.

If you're financing, and it's your daily, extended warranty and protections are always worth the peace of mind that you will have a way to get to work while you are still making payments imo. If I was buying outright I would nix all the add-ons and get my chassis protection done elsewhere for cheaper.

I do all my own maintenance. Costs less and makes me feel far better knowing it was done right. I'm not 70, but I'm pushing 60 and only have one leg. If I can do my own maintenance, you probably can ... 😉

YMMV.

I bought the 6 year 75,000 mile extended warranty for $2,000 and the maintenance package for $2,400 (6 years, 60,000 miles, oil change every 5,000 miles, full synthetic). I usually don't buy extended warranty or maintenance plans, but the 0% for 30 months plus the peace of mind convinced me. The maintenance plan includes 12 oil changes. My local Ford dealer charges $160 for full synthetic. $160 x 12 = $1,920 so I figured all the extra stuff the maintenance plan comes with was worth the extra $500. Did I just waste money???? ‍
If you’re going to keep your Mustang for more than three years, I believe it’s a very smart deal.
Please remember you’re not only get oil changes. You also get air filters which you need 2.
Plus in cabin air filter, windshield wiper blades, & brakes. I know I probably missed something.
I get 4- Oil Changes per year. I might get less since I don’t drive the Mustang GT in rain, Snow.
The oil changes don’t expire. You use them at your convenience. also, the GT has two air filters which can add up in price.
I always get the maintenance plan and the extended warranty.
You only have to use extended warranty once to pay for itself think about it.
Extended warranty, you’re betting something will go wrong. They’re betting something won’t.
I’m 77 & it would be difficult for me to do the Oil Change.

Up date.
I purchased the maintenance plan and extended warranty on my 2020 F150 4 x 4 Limited.
I just recently had the cam phase replaced and they did my back brakes and air filters at no charge to me.
The service manager said the Cam Phasers would’ve been over $5000 if I didn’t have the extended maintenance plan!

I got the maintenance plan because I consider it good for me but not the extended warranty as that's useless to me since I'll be modding the vehicle over time. Keep in mind you can cancel the extended warranty within the first year I believe but their may be a deduction for the refund for each month that passes.

Absolutely Not.
Please remember,
You get the Oil changes at your Ford Dealership.
No Warranty issues.
also receive,
Air Filters, you have 2..
In Cabin Air Filters.
Windshield wipers,
Brakes, which can get Expensive.
Tire Rotation.
I probably missed something.
The Extended Maintenance plan will pay for itself.
I know others will disagree & say it’s a waste of good Money. 💰
Please remember,
Three or four, five years from now those oil changes will probably Double.
Also,
If you should trade in your Mustang the part of the Maintenance plan you didn’t use you will get a refund.
I did several years ago.
I don’t know if they still have that option?

I know,
I just Repeated myself.
I just wanted to help people who are on the Fence.
It’s a lot of Extra money for sure.
There’s Pros and Cons.
