Waste of money, maybe, if the warranty is never used, and that's a flip of the coin. I've had extended warranties (Ford ESP) on my last 3 vehicles and so far have only had to use it once. Some repairs a very expensive, some not. I prefer to pay a little now than a lot later. Comes down to peace of mind and what looks reasonable.Maintenance/extended warranty plans are almost always a waste of money for the consumer, and hugely profitable for the seller.
this right here is worth all the money! When the manufacturer maintains the vehicle it’s more difficult to point fingers.
If you’re going to keep your Mustang for more than three years, I believe it’s a very smart deal.I bought the 6 year 75,000 mile extended warranty for $2,000 and the maintenance package for $2,400 (6 years, 60,000 miles, oil change every 5,000 miles, full synthetic). I usually don't buy extended warranty or maintenance plans, but the 0% for 30 months plus the peace of mind convinced me. The maintenance plan includes 12 oil changes. My local Ford dealer charges $160 for full synthetic. $160 x 12 = $1,920 so I figured all the extra stuff the maintenance plan comes with was worth the extra $500. Did I just waste money????
