Maybe someone has encountered this problem. I am getting an “low engine oil pressure” error, although the pressure is 4 bar on a cold engine, I assume it’s ok. What can cause the error?

Just check the psi number on the dash. Then check the oil fill.

It seems that Ecoboost doesn’t show these numbers on the other dash in Gauge Detail 🙄 but I was managed to find them, it’s about 90psi on cold and the oil level is also ok. Not sure if it is a good idea to wait while engine warms up if there is smth wrong with it

For some reason Ford didn't enable the oil pressure readout in the guage details for Ecoboost models. I'm not sure why as its pretty important!

If you have Forscan you can activate it though. You need to change the following in IPC:

720-06-01: xxx* xxxx xx--
Changed from "D" to "F" to enable O.P. Display

720-06-01: xxxx xxxx *x--
Changed from "1" to "3" to enable O.P. sensor.

Planning to buy it. Thanks, very useful info 👍

I agree: I would not drive the car until you confirm why it is alarming for low oil pressure.

13000+ kms, 7800 miles. So you've got some time driving the car.

Let's start with the obvious.

If you open the hood and look over the engine, do you see any leaks? Do you smell burning oil? Any drops on the ground where the car normally sits? You shouldn't. If you see something that interests or bothers you, send us a photo or let us know.

When is the last time you checked the oil? Some new engines will consume a bit of oil. Referencing the Owner's Manual, check the oil as described. Let us know what level it is. You can check the oil cold or warm.

When is the last time you had the oil changed? The EU change interval might be a bit different. Did you recently have the oil changed? If the engine has never had the oil changed, the level might be a bit down from break-in and new consumption. If you recently had the oil changed, they might not have put in the correct amount.

If everything appears correct, but the alarm continues, I'd consider having it towed to the dealer.

Wait until the engine warms up and check again. PSI is always high at start up and cold running.

Thanks for the advise, but if the pressure is high on the cold engine, the “low pressure” warning should not appear anyway 🤔 yes, 90 psi is normal number at start, so it is really strange why this warning appears

I assumed your warning was coming on with the car warm, but you never specified. So when did it come on? Cold start or warm driving?

i recommend taking your vehicle to the dealer as soon as you can, and dont start the engine. yes, it could be nothing, but you dont want to cause further damage in case it is an actual issue

Yes, sorry, forgot to mention it. The warning appears on the cold engine.
One more important point, I didn’t use this car for several months.

Yes, it seems that I'll have to do that, so I'm not risking driving it now. But since all the indicators are normal, there was hope that I could check something else and fix it myself.

So has it happened again? Did the warning go away quickly? If the car was sitting for a long time, what were the ambient temperatures of storage?

It could be nothing, or it could be a warning of mechanical failure. I would definitely have it checked out by the dealer ASAP.
