I apologize in advance for bumping this thread up out of nowhere, but I couldn't justify making a new thread just for this question...

Do you guys think we'll see anything new on the "Mach-4" this month with the LA Auto Show happening in a few days?

I wish! But I think it will be NAIAS or April before we hear any official new model news

I would love for them to bring it as a concept to the stage, so that they can judge people's reactions.

“Multimatic Motorsports driver Dirk Müller was chosen to pilot the 815-horsepower Mustang GTD on the notoriously difficult 12.9-mile, 73-turn circuit. The track veteran delivered an officially certified 6:57:685 time on his first attempt to crack the seven-minute barrier.” ?

My how the “Mach” nameplate has fallen. Was once associated with respect - especially since the 2003 version, which was basically a solid rear axle cobra.

Now it means grocery getter suv and door factory.

Very sad times.

Just call it the Falcon or Torino and be done with it.

One day there'll be a Cobra with an electric motor in it.

It’s crazy because I was watching his interview with motortrend about the GTD, they asked why he didn’t use “Mach 2” and he said “The Mach name fits in a predisposed definition on what a car is supposed to be.” Man contradicts himself all the time. 😂

As I thought about this a bit... If Ford really wants a performance four door to fill a model niche, why don't they bring back the Taurus SHO? Off-road you say? Heck, they already have three Raptor models, and none are really setting the world on fire except with their pricing! Perhaps they think bastardizing the Mustang (again!) with yet another name-knockoff will improve their bottom line? Personally, I think the idea is inane! Perhaps it is Ford's way to kill off the last pony car?

Everything that’s been leaked from that dealer meeting has came out from what we seen. It’s interesting that they’re doubling down but I’m curious to watch those coupe sales fall further.

We’ll get another 16+ thread out of it with mental gymnastics on why everything done so far(sedan, SUV) has “helped” the Mustang. 😂

It’ll be entertaining.

Stuff a coyote into a frunk and call it a mach 4? Independent switchable engagement of propulsion method with just enough ‘e’ to be called ‘electric’ (we only ‘need’ to cover the daily commute), heck 50 miles aint nothing for today’s machines.

Is this different from trademarking something just to keep rights to a certain thing (i.e. Boss trim), or is this another case of "we might do this or we might not"?

Could always be a possibility.

With rumors of that dealer meeting though and Farley notoriously doubling down on things after backlash, it’s most likely gonna happen.
