interesting. I’ve followed Mustang rumors for a long time and don’t remember the 3.0. I do remember that Ford actually had a 6 as the base and ecoboost as the option between base and GT. I think that gets muddy though. Those who want the eco 6 would be few compared to the v8 and its added complexity for ford with little reward. Not to mention the customer sat issues when the v8 guys add FI and the 6 guys can’t keep up even with mods. Not to mention paying all that extra money just to sound like… that. There was a lot of rumors back in 2020ish about ford using the 3.0 in some test mules, a Mustang ST that’s 45k that’s in between the Ecoboost and GT would do really well. The 4 door Mustang had also been rumored for years and i mean years, it’s rumored to be on the explorers CD6 platform. I hate the idea of it but if they pull a Ferrari FF or something of that akin, well it could be cool we will see
If there were rumors of this, then there must have been good reason why it didn’t happen. I can think of many.
same with the 4 door. Should never be a mustang.
if ford wants to experiment with a NEW performance sedan, awesome. I might be interest actually. But don’t call it mustang. Because it isn’t one. And then that interest dries up in a hurry.
