go ogleCould always be a possibility.
With rumors of that dealer meeting though and Farley notoriously doubling down on things after backlash, it’s most likely gonna happen.

I'm one of the few who wants it to happen. I've already talked extensively about how I'd like a 4-door sedan/sportback version of the Mustang so I won't repeat myself here. But could they really have not come up with a better model name than the Mach-4? That's about as imaginative as the Chevrolet Utility Sedan (assuming I remembered that one correctly).Could always be a possibility.

It’s lazy marketing. I agree a performance sedan would be welcome but how they’re going about it is weird. How they select the “Mach” name (Mach 4 is faster then 1 but it means doors?), how Jim Farley contradicts statements he makes all the time about it, and finally despite how easy it is to fix the issue, he doubles down.I'm one of the few who wants it to happen. I forgot (or straight up never knew) that the Mach-E was going to be called the Mach 1. Learned something new today. It’s lazy marketing. For example, Mach E was originally the “Mach 1.” There was huge backlash on the name because of heritage, Farley admitted that so they changed the name. But they doubled down harder and gave it the whole Mustang name. Lol. It’s actually kind of crazy.
I just learned about that not too long ago as wellI forgot (or straight up never knew) that the Mach-E was going to be called the Mach 1. Learned something new today.
I would. It's the only vehicle I'd want more than the regular 2-door Mustang GT. Sadly I can't see it starting for less than the GT/Premium already for sale...please prove me wrong Ford, if you even can...Would you buy a 4 door Mustang GT Mach 4?
Could be the perfect sports car sedan for the family or people that want looks and V8 power with practicality!
Totally agree, I think it’s a great addition to the lineup. And if adding more models means the Mustang will live on for a longer time, I’m all for it!I would. To be fair this thread should spare newcomers 29+ pages (on mobile at least) of backlog reading. (Edit: Nevermind, new thread just got merged with the old one. 🫠)Damn another thread

Car&Driver, Motor Trend, and Road&Track have picked up on Ford Authority's report on the Mach-4 trademark filing as well.
It's my pleasure to announce that a mustang sedan is happening, will be s650 based according to insiders. I know this will piss off some traditionalists, but this is gonna be a good thing long term. More vehicles riding on the mustang platform means more volume for those economics, helping economies of scale to work more in your favor. That's gonna ensure mustang's survival long term.Could always be a possibility.

No one said it isn’t. I just said it was. Lol. Yes it’ll ensure the name for a long time but not the car. All we were saying was you don’t need the name to help ensure the Mustang staysIt's my pleasure to announce that a mustang sedan is happening, will be s650 based according to insiders. Additionally, this is still a car, and still a muscle car. A V8 powered RWD performance sedan is awesome, even if they call it mustang.
Someone is in a mood lol. Seeing as the mustang sold 44k units last year, double that would be 88k. I find it fairly likely that the coupe and sedan combined can sell 88k units a year.No one said it isn’t. I just said it was. Lol. Yes it’ll ensure the name for a long time but not the car. Remember you said sales will double for both (because that’s what happens, but it doesn’t), and like I said I can’t wait to see what happens.I made sure I screenshot that conversation so I can reflect on it later.
This is confirmed? Not just a vague maybe/maybe not? It's my pleasure to announce that a mustang sedan is happening, will be s650 based according to insiders.
