I bought the Expensive service warranty So when my Dark Horse say's go change oil. I just go to the dealer and they change it with synthetic oil. I only drive it in nice weather so it only has 4,200 kilometer on the car. It is now telling me to go in again for a change. Not sure if it's based on time intervals or Kilometers driven?
Time + driving data

It will tell you to change the oil in 1 year even if you only put 150 miles on the car

The OLM watches a variety of variables to determine how quickly to countdown. Time, RPMs, how long driven each drive, temperatures, mileage, etc.

At one end of the spectrum, if you change the oil today, reset the monitor, park it and not drive it, the counter will reach 0% in one year. -1.923% a week. At the other extreme, for those that track often, the counter will tick down much faster.

Attached is an technical explanation, by Ford.

GWM - Gateway Module. A switch, linking the different networks, internal to the car.
HS-CAN - High-Speed Controller Area Network. The Mustang has four, linked by the GWM.
IPC - Instrument Panel Cluster.
PCM - Powertrain Control Module. Monitors and controls the engine, transmission and accessories.

I assuming you're tracking your car? Oil life goes down fast when you are doing hot laps. Same with the rear diff.

Otherwise, that is a really aggressive and arguably wasteful maintenance schedule.
Never would consider taking my car to the track, the only thing aggressive is my maintenance.

Mostly it's how you drive in a giving distance: spirited drive will reduce the lifespan by A LOT. If it was for the "computer" I would have to change the oil every 5.000Km or such (VS the 15.000Km given by the manual). However Ford (in my case) never cared about it, neither they raised any question (I reset it via menu), they say it's just a "suggestion" and won't affect the warranty, so I officially do the full oil change every 15.000Km (or at least that's what i did with my S550). For my current DH I changed it earlier because it was the first oil change, and I did it at 8.000Km (I already had to reset the computer thousands kms before), the oil was clean and in great conditions. Will do the next one at 15.000Km and 30.000Km .. and such along with the normal warranty maintenance.
