Now that you've experienced it, do feel it was worth the $$$ to swap the MT86 for the Tremec? Any electronic issues? Since your GT is a 2019 and probably has fewer electronic nanny's looking over your shoulder than the '24 I would hope so.
My apologies. Did you swap out the transmission? If so, how? I am installing 4.09 this week—Richmond gear set. If possible, I would love to install a Tremec.

I guess we got our wires crossed. No, I haven't made the swap and I was asking who , if anyone, has made it. . I thought you already did the swap and I didnt understand that you were changing the final drive gearing.

Good luck with gear swap!

To answer OP. I have had six different manual Mustangs/cobras. Three of which were MT82s. My 24 GT's MT82 shifted very good and I don't experience third gear lockout like I did in the past. Rev matching is fun especially if you have an aftermarket exhaust installed.

So Mach 1 and Dark Horse cars got the Tremec? Any others?

So far so good. Feels a little smoother once warmed a tad. Haven’t been locked out nor had any clutch pedal return issues. Although both of those can be driver as well as equipment so difficult to say for sure at this point. Rev-matching and hill/auto hold are interesting settings (each with their own pro/cons) - suffice it to say, rev match is now off but hill hold is on. Not sure we’ve gotten used to the ‘extra - drive though brake’ but it does come in handy for those slight inclines where you suddenly notice you’re coasting/rolling..
Update: rev match is back on and hill hold is set as the ‘favorite’ toggle. Wife-o (it’s actually her car) started driving more often and came home all giggly one day going vroom vroom, she said it’s the closest thing to riding the bike. Come rolling to an intersection and vroom vroom vroom. Me = 😁 (happy wife happy…)

shifting: seems to respond better with a smooth determined placement as opposed to the quick kick (just knock it into position instead of placed in spot).

I’m with you on all your observations. I am noticing the gear nibble more and more now that my mileage is creeping up. BMW used to put some sort of valve between the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder so as to not shock the driveline when releasing the clutch and people would remove or disable the valve. I wonder if Ford has used a similar arrangement . Another though is the Tremec most likely uses the same clutch setup as the GT and I haven’t heard of any DH owners complain of the same problem so that points directly to the MT-86 If that is the case, then the only solution is to swap out the MT-86 for a Tremec to the tune of 4K+.
I think I found where the clutch delay valve is after reviewing some posts on mustang6G. It appears to be In the elbow between the transmission and the plastic clutch line that everybody replaces for the stainless steel line. Link to the relevant thread is below. The pictures in that thread do a great job of explaining the location and what it looks like externally.

Next time I have my vert on a lift I'll check to see if there is an elbow in the line that looks like the one pictured. Thanks
