I have some annoying issues with my new Mustang.
I picked up the Mustang from the dealer, brand new, two days ago.
I covered some miles and discovered quickly that the cruise control buttons, lane assist and drive modes did not work.
I read here and there that reset of Sync 4 should help. It didn't.

I visited the dealer today, but it was too busy to check it, so I was scheduled for this coming Wednesday. When I got home, I checked the fuse box, pressed all the fuses down, and some clicked as if they were loose.
I checked the left buttons on the steering wheel, and they all worked. I was delighted, but my happiness did not last long.
This evening my son asked to take him for a short ride, and I quickly discovered the cruise control, driving modes, and lane assist did not work back again. The whole left cluster on the steering wheel is dead again.

My 2008 GT is more reliable.

☹ Dang! That sucks! Warranty should cover it though!

Make sure that battery is at a FULL charge. This car hates a weak battery. I had all sorts of glitches with mine until I fully charged up the battery. Now I keep it on a tender, year round. Had zero problems since.

You didn’t catch this on the delivery? Why would you take delivery of a brand new car that frankly is not cheap and not check out all the features before leaving?

Here’s why I ask: If you discover this on a test drive, the sales staff will browbeat the service department to fix it to make the sale, before you sign off. If not, they will give you a ā€œwe oweā€ document. Why spend your time on getting a car that is fully functional, when you can have it fixed right at the point of sale?

You would be surprised at the things that are not checked by the dealer Pre Delivery Inspection.
When the 2017 Raptor made it through the press introduction, there was about a 3-4 week QA hold. Mine was held longer, another story. Even so, people with more money than smarts would show up, sign papers and drive away. One guy spit all his coolant out in about 15 minutes, caused by a simple misaligned hose clamp that would have been caught on the gentlest of test drives. There were many more, and to be fair, plenty showed up and did do a test drive and inspection and still managed to have issues.

the ’21 through current MY Raps have been littered with fuses not fully seated causing all manner of weird stuff. It’s regrettable that your new Mustang has these issues, but once you get it repaired, it should be fine.

You can't check all features before leaving. Almost impossible. Theoretically you can, but there are too many features on this car to check them all out. Especially when something is new you have to find out how everything works in the next coming days or weeks. I still to this day discover stuff that I didn't know.

Why not? Sales people have nothing but time. I’m paying for their vacation to Tahiti, the least they can do is show me how to navigate the sync screens, engage/disengage cruise, swap exhaust modes, pull down the rear seats, set radio presets, or whatever other questions I have.
Unless they don’t want to sell me the car.

It’s your time after all and you have to be there to buy the car, so why not spend a few extra minutes, or hours getting squared away before you leave, than have to spend that time after the purchase.

I have met a few folks with fùck you money, but I have yet to meet anyone with fùck you time.

I guess we are all different.

I'm not going to grab the manual and go page by page checking the whole car if everything is on there and if everything works. Trust me, it's not a few minutes or a few hours.

I agree. When I picked it up I checked all the things I knew about. Then, over the next week or so, discovered a ton of stuff I had no clue was there.

I mean, I discovered stuff I didn’t ask about too, but I still made the saleslady explain as many things as I’d written down and could remember. I was there .. 4+ hours - found a scratch on the hood - ā€œthat’ll buff right out !ā€ it did, but took them the better part of an hour by itself.
They almost had to write me a we owe for the 2nd key, but they ended up finding it.

@GrabThatBlue is right though, everyone is different. I’m good friends with another Raptor owner who picks up his new vehicles and if anything’s wrong, lets the warranty sort it out. I respect his approach; I disagree with it, but I respect it. But the Rap downpayment in 2017 was the biggest personal check I’d stroked to date. I made sure I didn’t drive out with a problem. Technically it’s still my biggest personal check but only because the Dark Horse money was electronically transferred.

Completely off topic, but I'm always surprised when people from the US speak of using cheques.
It would be at least 20 years since I wrote or received a cheque, they're almost unknown here now.
Everything is by electronic transfer, credit/debit cards or cash when buyers pick up stuff.
But what always pees me off is that we used to have to wait for a cheque to clear, and we still have to wait for instant electronic transfers to "clear".
Banks always find a way to squeeze extra bucks out of us.

.
I can’t imagine inspecting the whole car by myself before closing the deal. As it is annoying and spoiled the fun of buying a brand new car, it is still a great car, with great features and comfort.
