Pretty sure the S650 has My Key....works for me. Can't remember how to set it up exactly but it was something like putting the Mustang in on mode without engine running and holding the lock button on the key. It will save all the options to that key.
That’s not myKey. That saves a PROFILE to a specific key fob, so let’s say you like your settings x way, and you unlock the car with said fob, it’ll use your settings. If you link a guest profile with your spare key, it’s different settings than yours. That’s not my key. My key actually limits RPM’s and top speed.

It doesn't restrict the options to that key.
That's what Mykey is for.

If you can't trust the person driving your car (other than in valet mode) then why let them borrow it? Normal mode should be a safe mode for anyone. No one drives my car except me. My wife won't even drive it after riding with me...lol..she thinks she will trash it, but she wouldn't, I just give her a show every now and then.

Comments like these really piss me off.

it shows how narrowminded some people are.

Is everybody a mechanic?
No, some people need to bring a car to a mechanic or dealership. Not al workers at a dealership or garage are respecting others property.

What about mandatory recalls?
Yup, you have to give your car to the dealership.

What about shipping the car overseas, like in my case? Yup, you have to hand over your car to the shipping company.

There are so many cases you have to hand over your car to somebody you don't know, to get things done.

So what's your next comment?
"So if you don't trust people, why buy the car?"

What's wrong with protecting your car these days?

MyKey works for me....... It's my key and I won't give it to anyone else.

Well not entirely true. State inspection will be one instance. I prefer to wait while this is done to lessen the odds of abuse.

In that case just put it in valet mode. Dealerships or mechanics don't need to "race" your car.

On a serious note. Why would Ford take away such a useful feature.

Exactly, they don't need to. So restrict it with the mykey option before the devil inside somebody says they want to..

You will talk different when something happens to you. You really think all dealerships or other companies have employees who follow the rules? Even if a dealership has a good reputation, an individual can always make a mistake and do something that is not allowed.

I agree with you there, but if that option (MyKey) is not available, then just use the Valet Mode. You can always tell the dealership/mechanic that your car can be monitored...even if it is not.

Valet mode does absolutely nothing regarding the vehicles speed, RPM, or gearing. All it does is lock the center console (if you have the package), and it locks the center screen so no one can adjust your settings. Besides that, full range to do anything.

Thanks, I haven't had to use it. But I appreciate the knowledge.

Locking the center screen keeps them out of your contacts, call history, your GPS favorites and history, and all that other kind of personal in there.

There's a movie from the last several years that had a guy that was "down on his luck" and had to take a job as a car valet to make ends meet. Some douche bag pulled up in what I remember as probably an orange Challenger (I could be mistaken), but the owner of the car said something irritating to the valet. The valet knew how to drive and whipped that car around and parked it. It was pretty cool. I wish I could remember the movie though. I'd let him park my car, because I couldn't that..lol.
