I ordered my 2024 Premium GT, AVE, PP, Magneride, 401A, Manual, Bronze, DMG paint on Mar 27, 2024. Nothing but emails from Ford saying the order is confirmed, but no schedule or VIN yet. Dealer says the order has an allocation but Ford doesn't have enough of the parts needed for the build. The Priority Code on my order summary is 19 - anyone know what that means? I'm a recently retired guy who just turned 80 and want to relive my youth a little before it's too late. My first ride in a Mustang was in late 1964 when I was 20, and I once owned a '65. Can't wait to shift those gears, feel that power, listen to the sound, and carve a few turns, but this getting very frustrating!!!
Not having a VIN is a bad sign. Some guys been waiting a year. Other guys ordered and their car shows up within 3 months. Having a priority code of 19 is also bad as @VTX CHF as said. Perhaps @roadpilot or one of the guys more versed in this can give you better insight.

Speaking as your Junior, with more road behind me than ahead of me, and with much respect, do not wait on the things that bring a smile to your face. You coming to a forum like this at 80, after having ordered a blinged out GT, means you are a man of means, have done your part and now should be able to reap what you sowed. You deserve your happiness any way you can get it sir.

I don’t think priority code means much. Mine is priority 4 and i was pushed out to aug 26, and Yes the dealer has allocation. It seams more like a raffle system some times. When you think all of the conditions are right, allocations, good priority number, and a vin, but delay after delay. If the dealer will honor the 2024 price and comp you for the inconvenience, it will be worth it. The 2024 mustang is a good car, at least i will be happy when i get mines.

Priority code certainly means something. I did a huge write up about ordering, allocation, scheduling, blending, etc. on the F150.fieums years back and posted a link to it here not long ago.

When I decided I wanted a GT PP or DH, I did the legwork and found the DH while it was on the assembly line. Had it in about 3 weeks. I've ordered plenty of vehicles over the years, but would never wait anywhere near as long as some of you have (and still are). Life is too short!

I just want something in writing before I commit to this wait any further. I'm also going to make sure I am Priority 01 in their scheduling system for a 2025 since they did the same thing for me in June for my 2024 order.

how has that priority 01 worked out so far, and what makes you think it will be any different now? not ragging on you but as I said in an earlier post there are close to 100 dark horses on dealer lots right now. Many with 4-5K discounts. Why would you wait when you can get a better deal and have a car now? Look at Cars.com and search for Dark Horses.

I searched Texas several weeks back and found ZERO within 120 miles, about 7 within about 5 hours drive. Of the 7, one was sold, 4 had ADM, 1 was not spec’d like I wanted. The only one left was the one I got. Although advertised much lower they added on upcharge items. I did negotiate them down and we reached terms. There were probably 5-ish more showing as in transit. I got a full MSRP quote on one at 76k+ the rest didn’t get back to me

all of this to say under MSRP is still possible but also still a rarity

FWIW I was made a Priority 01 in May 2021 after ordering the Mach in March and it still took till October to get it, and I was close to having it cancelled and reordered as a 2022. Same issues as it sounds like they are having today with lack of all the parts. One of the parts was the Cup 2's and I even called Michelin to talk to them about it and they said those tires in those sizes just aren't a priority for them when they have orders for millions of "regular" tires to fulfill.

Just got done saying they ran out of engines and transmissions when they put me on Priority 01, that has never happened to my memory. I had plenty of other feedback from others that pressed for their Priority 01 designation and got immediately scheduled the following weeks, but that was when they had parts in stock.

I think it beats out any other priority designation, certainly doesn't hurt. I bet if I was any other priority I would be waiting much longer. Me badgering my dealership and Ford constantly has netted me $12K on Price Protection and Rebates so it's working out great so far. Has my wait been too long? Maybe, but I'll be getting one hell of a deal and it'll be worth the wait and effort I put into it.

Price protection and rebates won't carry over if your 2024 becomes a 2025. The only way you'll get that is if it comes out of the dealership's pocket.

Which is why I have it all in writing with signatures not only with the rep from Ford corporate, but w/ the dealer as well.

Again, the dealership can offer it, but you lose price protection from Ford Motor Company when the model year changes. I've purchased over a dozen brand new Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles from the same dealership and almost all from the same salesman over the past ~20 years alone. I've learned quite a bit from my salesman over the past two decades.

Not sure when you placed your order but my GT is scheduled for the same week of assembly and it is priority 19. Ordered 23rd of May so about 3 month lead time on the full load GTs in my experience.

I think GoldenHand is in for a big let down. I hope I'm wrong.
