I saw on Amazon an Apple Carplay & Android Auto USB box that can be plugged in your car and can make your screen have YouTube, Netflix and all kinds of other ways to play video's on your screen.

Amazon.com: MMB MAX 5.0 Magic Ai Box Wireless Carplay & Android Auto Adapter, Android 13, 8GB+128GB, 8Core, Multimedia Video Box Support Disney+, NetfIix,YouTube,Live Sports,Google Store and More : Electronics

I saw a video on YouTube on how it works, and I thought, this might be a cool upgrade on my Mustang while doing long roadtrips.
MMB Max 5.0 AI Box | Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto Adapter (Android 13)

Has anybody have experience with this box or any other type of box that can make your screen work with video's?

Nav&TVToGo used to market several different adapters to do the trick. This was possible because most of the original Nav screens used an analog feed, rather than digital. The latter makes an interface a bit more complicated. Nonetheless I'm not surprised at the ingenuity, but as mentioned, this type of activity is rather distracting; the reason so many states outlaw the scenario. Fed law allows them only for rear passenger areas, and with headsets so the sound track isn't distracting to the driver.

If you cared to look, you can still buy DVD/TV players powered by 12 vdc, but most are referbed units not new ones.

As a side light... I used a Nav&TVToGo to display the screen for my Icom IC-7000 amateur radio transceiver. For that application, it is less distracting than watching a movie to be sure. But even playing with the screens in any "glassified" vehicle is rather distracting. We will never learn!

You do understand, driving and watching videos' at the same time will result in a really bad outcome? That's why many states here in USA have laws against driving and being on cell phone.
Im sure OP wants it when he is parked and safe. (Or at least thats what I am hoping for...)

Line Lock is illegal too when doing it on the highway, yet the option comes from the factory.

I'm not going to waste time playing internet safety police

My brother has one, it works great, definitely worth a try

We all have features in our car that are illegal when using them wrong. It's not the feature that's illegal but the way we use it that can make something illegal.

So it's a bit strange that people jump in their police uniform to point out that it's wrong using it while driving when there is no evidence that I'm planning to use it while driving.

I just used an iPad when I drove from Tampa fl to rapid city sd.. 36 hours, brutal drive.

I only used it at a rest stop though I tried while driving and it was too distracting.

Pretty sure it's illegal to go 0-60 in 3.5 seconds on public roads but here we are

You know guys for me it’s not a question of legalities, the po-po or even safety.

I just find it philosophically hard to believe that playing a video in a hi-po V-8 car is even a topic.

Carroll may have sadly left us just in the nick of time to be spared from this. But I guess I’m just [unapologetically] stuck in the 1960s.

You know how many times I eat inside my car?
My car is like a living room for me.
Always good fun when watching some YouTube.

These cars come with a probably 46 inch screen, they aren't old muscle cars anymore lol

While I can only speak for a handful of states that I am specifically aware of: As long as you don't break traction (e.g., do a burnout, which is considered reckless driving in most states), there are no maximum or minimum time limits associated with a speeding violation. If the prima facie speed limit is 60 MPH, it doesn't matter how fast you get there as long as you remain in control of your motor vehicle and do not exceed 60 MPH.

Irrelevant. It's still a violation of most (all?) state MV laws to drive and view a screen or device for anything other than vehicle operating features or for purposes of navigation (e.g., GPS).

Interesting. I wonder if I could run SoloStorm datalogger software on this instead of on my phone.
