It’s not just “membership” gas. It’s virtually every brand. There are many variables that go into producing gasoline long before it comes out of the pump.
Completely agree, was aiming more for the face value perception, manufacturer vs supplier.

And I want to see before and after datalogs from the car, showing the knock with gas from one station, not showing it with gas from station 2, and then putting gas from station 1 back in...

Gas is the first thing to be blamed for any car problem when it's almost never the case.

Unless it’s store brand no guarantee it will be there next week,
It ALL comes from the same damn tank farm. Shell, Sheetz, random mom&pop, Exxon. I just need a way to tap the right tank and run 200m worth of garden hose down to my car and I'd have free gas for all eternity.

Same farm not same ‘tank’ but yeah or they keep it up and give us what we need and we’ll be able to brew it up ourselves.

I don’t use Costco because my time is worth more to me then the few dollars I would save waiting 10 minutes in line…

I stick with Shell. Costco may or may not be good but I know Shell is.

2020 F150 4x4 Limited. 2024 GT Mustang Premium. Both in Rapid Red.
Hate to sound dumb, but why not just run the cheap shit? I understand running ethanol free in carbureted cars, but not 91 in modern naturally aspirated EFI cars.
Pay now or pay later.
I run 91 octane or higher, in almost every vehicle I have owned, including my Lawnmower.
Back in the 60,s you could get 98 octane here in Colorado, $.32 a gallon.
I had to use it in my 67 Fairlane GTA another fun car 🚙, two-door Hard Top.
Premium allows your vehicle to as it was designed.
You get better performance & better mileage.

 If I was going to open one, or even a chain, of gas/service stations; I'd call 'em "Road Warrior's Juice 'n Scoot".

Hi quality hi octane juice (93 to 105 O only!) for all your wasteland adventures! All the attendants/clerks would dress like characters from the movie.

Filled up the truck @ Costco today. Saved 40 cents per gallon over my local station. 40 × 33 gallons = $13.20. It was worth the wait. Besides, I usually full up on my way to work when there is zero wait @ our Costco.
