Yeah
My car does the same thing and I only picked the car up in May. Between the dash rattle and my headliner rattling at the back, this car has more interior rattles than my 03 Mach 1 that I sold to buy this car. The engine rattle/tick and screen locking up are just icing on the cake. I've owned well over 20 Mustangs in my lifetime and this is probably my least favorite.
Yeah, a Ford rep approached me on this forum because of the same issue. After exchanging a bunch of private messages he suggested to bring it back to the dealer. I did not buy a new car to start going back and forth to the dealer I told him. So far I'll keep it but keep my eyes open ...

That's the only thing the Ford Rep on forums does. They make it look like they care, but really all they do is refer you to the dealer...

It’s definitely not a fake sound it’s like a loose interior panel type of noise but maybe idk
Maybe someone has a screw loose?

I understand that stuff happens and that these cars are mass produced. The quality has been disappointing though and the items I listed aren't the only issues I've had.

The only way to fix it is book it in but I know that when I bring it in, it won't make the noises and they likely won't be able to find anything. The screen only locks up periodically so it won't do that either.

I've owned a lot of vehicles over the years and can honestly say I never really regretted a purchase till this car, but it goes beyond the rattles and screen. Those are just nuisances but there are things that I really don't like that can't be fixed or require aftermarket parts to fix. Things like:

Incorrect redline (I have a manual car). That's just a total failure on Ford's part. I mean, we can get a foxbody and classic cluster, but we can't put the correct redline on it?

The paint. There are a fair amount of paint flaws but I can live with that. The paint on the rear bumper though doesn't stay on very well. The dealer put there name plate on the rear bumper so I removed it with fishing line. When I was picking the glue off, a section of paint just came off. Ford's paint is apparently no match for some 2 sided tape and my thumbnail.

Transmission lockout at high RPM. I've owned 3 other MT82 cars and this one is the worst.

Wheel hop. If it's wet out the wheel hop is atrocious.

Oh well, such is life. I'll probably drive it the rest of the summer then sell it in the spring, take my loss and move on.

In my case it's absolutely the screen's back cover. I lightly touch it and it stops.
Mine does it too. It seems to be related to the texture of the road I'm on and the temperature. Although it's intermittent, the hotter it is the more likely it is to do it. And a slight pulling from behind the screen and it stops. Not serious enough for a trip to the dealer at this point. I'm just not sure if I should remove the plastic piece behind the screen and tighten the bolts or just wedge something in between the screen and the plastic piece behind the screen. BTW, I'm at 963 miles. Had it 2 weeks yesterday...

I've found the same, smoother asphalt it's not there but older rougher roads is when it shows up. Mine was doing it on its first road trip with less than 300km on it.

I was thinking about a tiny piece of felt wedged between the bottom panel and the back of the screen.

Hi all,

I'm hearing an intermittent rattle/buzzing coming from the plastic backing of the screen.

It's not rpm related and happens at a few different speeds so i'm guessing it depends on type of road and likely temperature too.

If I put a finger behind the main cluster screen while it's buzzing, it stops.

Kinda annoying. I guess i can wedge a little piece of something behind there that will stop it and won't be seen.

Wondering if others have observed that.

I have the premium so it's one long backing in case this makes a difference.
I just bought a new 2024 ecoboost and having the same noise. If I squeeze the top of the screen together it stops. Probably will try wedging something into it to.

Hi there! I can look into your mustang's noise concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your mustang's VIN?
