Has anyone had a rattle coming from the rear seats? I have one that seems to go away when I fold the rear seats down. I assume it has something to do with the rear seat latch but I'm not sure. Wanted to see if anyone that had this rattle was able to find the source.

I have a very irritating squeak but I’m not sure it’s the seat. Under speed or load it goes away. At low speed it squeaks in the right side somewhere like a 100 year old rusted truck. I’m guessing it’s a spring or a shock. I folded the seat down and that didn’t seem to make a difference. I am installing steeda springs, cam plates, sway bars, end links, and the full stop the hop kit next week so I will see if that fixes it. It definitely sounds like somebody didn’t lube something. Only had the car a month. Car drives great with no issues but it’s still irritating to hear. I crank up the exhaust and you can’t hear it.

I had the same issue months ago and fixed it by just using some silicone spray on the hinges it has never returned.

The hinges of the seat? It’s so weird because it doesn’t sound like it’s coming from the seat but my hearing isn’t great. I push on the rear seat and it doesn’t make the noise. I’ll give it a shot.

That's exactly what I thought. I had already taken it to Ford but they were unable to find the noise and I originally thought is was a suspension issue. Turns out it was the RS passenger rear seat.

Ok. I’ll give that a shot then. Thanks! Will follow up once I see if that works.

I've isolated my rattle to the rear decklid panel behind the rear seats. When pushing down on the plastic above the driver side subwoofer grille, the same rattle/squeak is heard. When I wedge something between the rear window and the panel the sound goes away completely.

I removed the rear deck lid panel on mine and shoved some foam blocks in there to keep it from making that noise, also put some sound deadening in there while I had it off but I'm less sure of the effectiveness of that compared to the foam which definitely made the noise stop.

Hey, I'm struggling with this back seat rattle as well, could you elaborate what "RS" stands for? Did you lubricate the hinges where back seat folds down (those between the back part and the seat part) only? Did you also lubricate the locks that are in the seat itself?

I hear a faint rattle coming from the rear as well but only while driving so its hard to isolate where it’s coming from. Where should I start? For others that hear/heard a rattle, was it while the vehicle was stopped or moving?

I think they meant rear side. For me, I folded the rear right seat down, sprayed the hinge in all places, moved the seat up and down several times, hit the hinge from the front too, then wiped up any excess. At first it only helped a little. By the next morning it was gone completely.
