So I've got a road trip coming up on July that I have started putting a kit together for.

TRIP DOWN: 1600 KM (1000 miles)
Day 1 - 1000km
Day 2 - 600km

TRIP BACK: 1261 KM (784 miles)

So, what would people bring as a bit of emergency kit?
  • I've got a jumper box already
  • I've got a 5.5 gallon VP Fuels "Jerry Can"
    • My Stage 1 Dark Horse and a 2021(ish) GT500 are part of the group so more dino blood!
    • This would remain empty unless we run out. Then a trip to the closest Dino Blood store.
What else would you bring?

I'm thinking of a Tire Patch kit (in case someone runs over a nail) and a portal tire inflator?

There are a few items I keep in all of my cars just in case something happens:
1. A case of water bottles.
2. Blankets. (Walmart has little fleece travel blankets for like $5)
3. Clean shirts and socks.
4. A spotlight.
5. Jumper cables.
6. Travel tire pump. (If not included in repair kit)
7. Ice scraper.
8. Tire cables or chains.

Probably more that I'm forgetting, but this is the majority.

As it will be July when we are going we should be good on the blankets and ice scrapers :)

Water bottles are a must. I always carry stuff to hydrate around with me.
Clean shirts and socks are already part of the kit since we're going for a week :)

I have jumper cables in an emergency kit in the car (and a road flare, cones, tinfoil blanket etc. etc.) however I also have a Yesper YJS40 kit and carry that fully charged when out and about.

I do need to look into a Travel Tire Pump. Was debating on the ETENWOLF VORTEX S6

I have a Cruz Tools travel kit with basic tools, insulating tape, cable ties, etc. I also take a bike tyre plug kit and my tyre inflator. Never had to use either, so I'll keep taking them.
Not keen on tyre inflator kits. We punctured a tyre while in Italy, miles from anywhere
no cell service, no paper owners manual and, obviously, no online manual.
Managed to half inflate the tyre, drove very slowly to a little hamlet with a garage, but the tyre was stuffed by then. Marco the magician happened to have a used tyre of the right size and got us mobile.
I prefer plug kits.

I know it's not the most expensive unit on the market, but my parents got my wife and I these pumps for Christmas a few years back. They keep one in their truck for when they're towing their 5th wheel. I have one in my car, my wife in hers, my oldest son in his, and I have one in the house for bikes and balls. This little guy has saved us in a pinch more than once.

Just did a 1,300 mile each way trip in a 438k miles 2010 F150, and just brought plenty of gas money.

I actually drove from Central Texas to Central Tennessee like 2 weeks ago.... 2 days before we left, I got a nail in the tire, thankfully it only went through the tread and there was no leak. Just in case, I borrowed a full-size spare wheel & tire from a friend. I never had to use the spare.

Personally, I prefer to bring my pump jack, and a real jack stand when I go on long road trips.

My toolbox, a full-size spare, and the pump jack + jack stand took up like 80% of the trunk.

I REALLY wish our cars were able to fit a full-size spare under the trunk mat.

I'm riding on 20s. They are great when in my own country and area however on long road trips any spare is a "No way that is fitting anywhere" moment!

Just bring a couple credit cards and a good pillow and about 10 bottles of 5 hour energy.
