FORSCAN v2.3.62

I was finally able to update the IPC on the new version of FORSCAN. I tested with the easy mode continuous gear display h/t @roadpilot

I found the full instructions to disable the seat belt status overlay here:
https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...t-information-screen-confirmed-working.45892/

Note that I already have the seat belt chime disabled, so I only implemented changes to
720-13-01
720-13-02
After taking a backup of the IPC as built, I changed both fields above to all zeroes. Write all and a prompt comes up that you confirm, then cycle the ignition switch.

I left 720-14-01 and 720-14-02 as delivered from the factory.

it was 106F yesterday, so I did a remote start. Video below is done with driver + passenger in the car, no seat belts buckled. At least until I got out of the garage.

I also tested a simulated fuel stop. Car in park, unbuckle and seat belt overlay does not reappear.
Note: when IPC is flashed, the custom color scheme available on the My Mustang menu, and the alarm confirmation prompt are reset.

Nice.

I have noticed the display on mine is very random how long it takes to turn off. But it always does
I’ve seen it to be about a minute if left to its own devices.
ex.:
I get in, start up then buckle up and go. IF I change displays in the gauge cluster, it goes away immediately.
Else
it stays on for a minute.

IF one or more persons is not buckled and you’re in gear it will not disappear for several minutes. I didn’t time this and I will only do it on my street ; it’s one way in, one way out, no high speed traffic.

The major annoyance from this to me is when I stop to refuel, I have to summon the trip meter and reset it while I’m still belted. Sometimes I don’t do this and in order to summon the trip meter again you either buckle up or power on without starting the car and then reset the trip meter.

I like seatbelts and use them. I’d bet that the ~ 3 miles I’ve driven on my street in the month I’ve had this Mustang is the most I’ve driven without wearing a seat belt in all of my driving history combined. I don’t need to be nagged about wearing my seat belt or wear a helmet on my bikes.

Anyway, I hope this helps others who may find this particular 2024 Mustang behavior bothersome.

Did anyone try "Switching the seatbelt reminder on and off" function as described in the manual on page 54?

@smurfslayer
Normally just short pressing the ok button on the right should immediately remove the seatbelt information display.

If you / all passengers are belted. If any of you are not, the splash screen is persistent and you cannot change away from the splash screen.

switching the minder off stops the seat belt chime, not the splash screen.
Belt is usually the top 3 things I do when I get in - hit start if I prestarted, move the Recaro forward, belt up. I cannot bring myself to ride a motorcycle without a helmet, and feel similar about seat belts. But that splash screen is a bit... extra.

If you change the two values in the original post, above that will do it

Is changing everything to zero not removing all the seats? Do you still have the seat belt minder and chime if you don't use the seat belt while driving?

I just want to remove the splash screen when I'm standing still without seatbelt, but I still want to have the seat belt reminder working in the car to stay on the legal side of my countries regulations.

so, the little dash “idiot” light flashes at you, however I suppressed the chime via the manual procedure, which didn’t work but I was able to get a procedure to work from ’24 F series. I verified that once but that was it.

I like my seat belts and wear them all the time. I don’t need my car or government telling me to. I live in a helmet optional state and always ride with a helmet, period.
