There was no NA version announced, just SC'ed. I do not think there will be one. there are other Shelby's if you want NA.
the website says:

Shelby American has crafted the most powerful Shelby GT350 ever. The 5.0L V8 engine, available in 480 and 810 horsepower versions (supercharged)

1. Why does everyone hate Shelby wanting to modify an existing GT? They did that originally with the AC.
2. Does anyone think Ford introduced the Dark Horse, without a long range plan to eliminate Shelby?

No offense but the Mach 1/ Dark Horse dont have the same amount of changes that the Shelbys did - so I would not consider the Dark Horse a replacement for the Shelby

Remember in addition to all the suspension items the Shelby cars also had
- bespoke motors
-wider fenders
-Carbon Fiber from radiator support - in fact from the A pillar forward the car is entirely different from the GT - the entire front end is lower then the normal Mustang- the radiator support exc sits lower relative to the rest of the car...

The Mach 1 and Dark Horse are great cars dont get me wrong- but if you drive them back to back with a 350 there is a difference - but should also say some might not like the difference

For a road trip- the Dark Horse/ Mach 1 is the superior car in my opinion....the GT350s are more....well tramlining is a thing lol

Would someone on here that owns a Shelby American car please show us your title? Thank you!
Title still says Mustang- if you put the VIN in the DMV it will still show a normal Mustang

I had a Roush truck for a while- it made it a pain to sell ..... everyone tried to price it like a normal F150 - my title didnt say Roush anywhere on it

I think they are talking about the Shelby serial number that gets you in the Shelby registry - but for a small fee- well my car is in the registry also.....

OK, thank you. I read online that they were titled as "Mustang Shelby".

Dark Horse, Dark Horse R (and whatever other lettered variants I’m leaving out), GT3, GTD and so on and so on, they’re ’bout to get too much stuff going on all at the same time. It’s hard to keep straight what’s supposed to be what without a quick reference scorecard. And these “new” Shelby GT350/Rs? Really people, how many times can you duct tape a blower on a Coyote/Predator, tart it up a little, change the name (or not) and convince buyers it’s cool and different? I’m sorry, but it’s not. Great cars I’m sure but it’s Groundhog Day, SOS…

I usually don’t like it when folks say “if they’d only done this or that, I’d buy one”. I always wanna say yeah, start your own car company and build what you want. Yet here I am about to do it myself. If they’d have started with a DH, kept it NA but juiced it up by 25 hp while shedding 200-300 lbs. I’d have been an instant player. Basically recreated a 350R but figured out how to keep it from developing the spontaneous flyapart syndrome. And oh make it an actual production car while you’re at it.

While I’m waiting I think I’ll just hold on to my HP Dark Horse. I really don’t think it’s going to get any closer to what I want than that.

can you prove this? How do they retitle a GT that you send them?
No. I’ve been told this and even read, it but doing more digging it appears that this is likely an amalgamation of varying scenarios over the years. The DMV would most likely still look at it from the standpoint of the original MFG model. Though that is not the case for earlier cars, which apparently had two actual VINs. It may depend on a particular states DMV on how they do it. There were (again so I have read from Ford) actually quite a few Mustang GTs that got pre titled from Ford as “Shelby GT” back in the 2008 era, that were not built by Shelby (did not have a CSM). So is that a Shelby or not? Seems like no...but if the title says it is...*shrug*

I have also found statements that, you can legally register a mustang as a Shelby if it has the CSM number. But as far as I can tell, Shelby does not actually do this themselves.

So it seems like there is actually a non-zero chance that if you do it right, you could actually register a Shelby modified vehicle as a Shelby, on the title. Possibly by having Shelby buy the car from Ford and not taking a car you already bought to Shelby.

As others point out...the original GT350 and 500 were actually designed by Shelby, and manufactured by Ford which has not been the case for a long time and as such, so it does seem they are much closer to "tuner" status these days even if they do have to engineer their packages more than most people seem to realize.

The exception to this....is the 350R model. According to Shelby (and assuming he did not mispeak) the street model has a bespoke, carbon tub carried over from the racing version. I'd have to say that is pretty legit, and a total first for a mustang. Technically...it may not even be a mustang even though it may look like one. Timestamp is near 17min .

EDIT: Man what a trip...further research indicates that while the street version is a specially engineered car built in a different shop, the carbon "tub" is not in fact a real tub. Its more like a steel structure with carbon panels instead of heavier carpet.

apologies, "my dude". it sucks that Shelby didn't put a voodoo engine in this to replace the coyote. But from the press release and the product pages, they are releasing this as an inferior version to the super snake, which has the exact same motor and supercharger on it. so it sucks that there really isn't that much differentiation between these two products, just suspension changes YMMV
Yeah, unfortunately that's just how Shelby of America rolls. Their cars aren't terribly, but they aren't really that impressive either. Basically a glorified tuner at this point which is a shame considering Shelby used to have a hand in actual core car design and development for established brands like Ford.

The guy who designed the 2020 gt 500 and the s650 pointed out how the grille on newer Shelby models looks like a ram truck and now I can't unsee it.
