With all the cars you have driven, have you considered trying out a MkV Supra?
Alongside the current Z, yes. I'm just not sure how I feel owning a strictly 2-seater vehicle versus something with a backseat. Maybe if I were to lease one...but I think at this point I've decided on either a GT or Mach-4 when the right time comes.

If I drove that many cars, I'd probably give up and take a bus. That's just utter confusion.
We don't have such a huge choice of makes and models here, and the only comparable competition for the Mustang is a 370Z, which will never darken my garage. Everything else is $20k more.
The Mustang had the spec I want in a car, cheaper servicing than a Euro model, similar insurance cost, and just a bit thirstier. I'm betting it'll hold value better too.
Pretty much a no brainer.
It also attracts a lot of attention, if you like that sort of thing.
It's a shame the attention is only from older Boomer men, like me.

Since last time I test drove a few more cars. Specifically, a Camry XSE, Explorer ST, and a V6-equipped Ranger Lariat. Nothing particularly noteworthy or memorable other than it was my second time test driving a Ranger---and switching the drive mode to Sport in that truck made it a lot more fun and engaging to drive than the first time I tried it out. I also liked that there's no artificial engine sound pumped in to the interior like the Bronco.

All said and done though, not enough to sway me from deciding between the GT/Mach-4 or Prius...HAPPY APRIL FRIENDS!

WRX manual is a solid choice if you're cross shopping and EB but want 4 doors.

A simple tune and intake adds 75 to 100hp. And the FA24 motor is very robust unlike previous WRX motors.

Not sure how you kept killing it on take off.

My manual mishaps aside, I found the ride quality not to my liking and wasn't a fan of the drone at idle.

In other news, I recently test drove a GR Supra. It was a nice vehicle overall, but not enough to persuade me not to consider a GT. Part of me wonders if knowing a lot of its internals were BMW-based beforehand influenced my internal biases. It also makes me wonder if the MKIV Supra felt more "Toyota" in the overall driving experience than this MKV.

Being one of the two outlier vehicles I was considering, this now leaves the Z as the only vehicle left that I'd like to try out eventually.

Your whole approach is coming off as nonsense. I mean no disrespect. Honestly.

The WRX doesn't drone at idle. That doesn't even make sense.

That supra has the B58 motor which is phenomenal. What bias would you have, exactly?? And why even drive it then??

Are you a kid just posting random stuff?

Yup. Just a filthy casual EcoBoost owner posting his general/random observations from driving various vehicles of varying levels of sportiness, much to the chagrin of hardcore car enthusiasts everywhere. It is what it is, hot takes included.

I used to love the previous gen Supra owners, proudly proclaiming their 600+ rwhp and 9 second capable cars... Only to be humiliated at MIR with 14.1ā€™s all night long. I did eventually see one drop into ... I think 13.3.

Not much different from MANY Hellcat owners turning 13's. One thing they have in common with the Supra drivers is they need the driver mod. I love racing most Hellcats. My 12.0 Scat Pack beats most of them by 10 car lengths.

MIR you say? Physically or videos? I lived near south Balmer and MIR was one of the tracks I frequented.

75/80, MIR, Capitol, Cecil...

I used to run Midnight Madness at MIR. I grew up in southern MD. I ran ... letā€™s see.
ZX11, Gen 2 F150 Lightning, ā€™69 460 Cougar -with Drum brakes. I wonā€™t do that again.
The ZX11 was stupid fast, I had about $6k in the motor alone, 1206cc. During the time trials it was anything goes and all the Mustangs, F bodys, etc were struggling to hit 12ā€™s.

I did have one guy - towed ā€™66 Chevelle, s/c big block, slicks, tubbed. He kept with me for the first 2 gears and I didnā€™t start pulling away until the top of 3rd. I was duly impressed, stopped by to jaw with him after. Then rode home.

My Lighting did a 13.3. Stock, no mods, street tires. Yes, at MIR. Rosie. As in ā€˜whole lotta Rosieā€™ ;-)

Nope. 75/80 is as far out west as I went.

For real this time, I am done writing test drive reviews/observations here and will keep that stuff to myself going forward (I think I've accomplished what I needed to do a while ago, anyways, and posting more would just be redundant at this point). If someone could please lock this thread or delete it, I will continue to play the patience game for the Mach-4 and/or wait to see what changes are made to the S650 GT going forward and post a lot more sparingly accordingly. Thanks everyone.

good luck in your hunt. don't hold your breath for a Mach 4 or any signigicant changes coming to the S650. What you see is pretty much what you will get.
