Picked up DH yesterday in Bathurst. Looked great on the dealers floor in Blue Ember. Pity about the inclement weather, now home in Tea Gardens needing a good wash.
I received instruction at dealership on many of the electronic settings but driving home forgot where to set cruise control and feared pushing a button on steering wheel in case it was incorrect. Haven't driven this far without cruise for ages.
First impressions. Steering felt on the heavy side but it had no understeer and just bit in on fast cornering. Since I arrived home I have watched a tutorial and I now know how to set cruise and the steering feel has 3 settings. Noise under acceleration is wonderful but no so much the fuel economy. Still have a lot to learn and remember about the car electronics.
The dealership kept every tag and paperwork that came with the car and presented me with it in a nice folder. Much appreciated. One thing, there was a report on why the car was quarantined. It wasn't for mud as I had been advised by a friend but rather DUST. Probably from the 6 weeks it spent on Baltimore wharf waiting for a ship to Oz.
It's in for PPF wrap on 6 January in Sydney so limited or no driving until then.
Will send some photos once it has been cleaned.
Arranged a spare wheel from Pony Parts Qld which duly arrived. However, on trying to fit it to the boot well it was slightly too big. The paperwork suggested if tight to use undiluted washing up detergent and it should slip in. The worry is when it is time to remove (could be months or years) it will be stuck tight and difficult to remove.
I'm going to try to find a tyre truing business to get a few mm trimmed of the circumference.
The car is AWESOME by the way if you haven't gleaned this so far..
What size spare did you go with - 19" or 20"?

19" I am still investigating fitment in trunk/boot.. It's heavy and awkward to install having to lean forward while supporting the wheel..
Haven't made any progress with regard to finding a business to trim down the overall size of the fitted tyre at 35 PSI. In the meantime I am making a cardboard pattern with dia 27.5 inches to double check everything. Will post results.

There is a whole thread on here about the spare tyre sizes etc - the 20" rim works out to be 6mm smaller rolling diameter, so fits into the boot easier. I went with the 20" and it slides into the boot well nicely - I wouldn't want it to be 6mm bigger...

Thanks. The supplier Pony Parts Sunshine Coast stated it would fit both the car and the boot.
Probably why the supplier had a good price on the item.
I'm looking to trim 6mm off the rolling diameter which will still leave a thread depth of 4mm.
Nothing decided finally just yet. Still investigating.

I'd be returning it for a refund if they stated it would fit and order the correct size...just my 2c

Just got a dealer update, ETA has pushed out another week to 4/2/25. Makes sense given the Parsifal is due 2 days before my previous ETA meaning it would've needed to get through quarantine in 2 days (unlikely).

Dealer reckons it'll take them a week to prep it for handover so I'm looking at taking delivery around 11/2/25 - just shy of 22 months since ordering.

UPDATE
I'm pleased to report the 19 inch wheel is now a resident of my boot wheel well.
I didn't shave the diameter of the tyre. Instead I reduced the tyre pressure to 15 lb. and used the detergent on the sides (3) (as recommended by the supplier) where the tyre made contact. It went almost down to the bottom of the well and the last bit was coxed with a rubber hammer.
I then inflated the tyre to 42 lb. and left it for 24 hours hoping the pressure might expand the well a little. I have now dropped the pressure to 30 lb. (a little lower than the recommended 35 lb.).
If I have trouble getting it out when needed I can drop to 15 lb. to retrieve and use the air pump to increase to recommended pressure. I did contact the supplier after the spare tyre was installed.

Hey for those with their mustangs I seem to recall when you first drive them you get a bit of a burnt rubber smell and a bit of smoking from the the stuff they put on the car which burns off. Just making sure this is normal as my car had a bit of smoke and smell after the first drive.

Yeah I've seen that mentioned in numerous threads. Should be normal mate.

Put your head under there!

All the export cars have a corrosion protection layer sprayed underneath.

The high temperature of the exhaust system tends to bake the coating.

I could smell mine for the first ~500km or so. 😷

Completely normal, although I wouldn't call it acceptable. It's the horrible black paint they haphazardly spray on the underside of the car, it even ends up on the tyre sidewall and wheel barrels. Mine even had it on the visible parts of the exhaust tips.

Although for S550, this video shows how they do it at about the 4min 50sec mark........................also note how they are hacking the plastic wrap with a razor blade, nice and close to the paint and headlight.
