After my 22 gt premium was bought back by Ford for transmission failure, I bought a 24. 9k miles in and the transmission is doing the exact same thing as the 22. I guess Ford didn't see a need in addressing the issue. It appears to be a bushing in the CDF DRUM, probably a $3 part. WTF Ford? Anyone else having these issues? Clunking into gear, harsh shifting up and down, slipping, searching for gears.....?

The A10's absolutely do not hold up. Bad choice to you for doing it twice.

Well known problem in previous models and still Ford continues to use that Chinese transmission....
I had the same problem on my 2020 Bullitt!
I sold it and ordered a DH with the American Tremec transmission!
It would not accept shifts from 2nd to 3rd above 7000 rpm.

I have the same issues, I clear the adaptive tables and it improved for a few hundred miles then returned.

Is your 24 in the shop and confirmed it is the same issue with a bushing?

My understanding is the A10 transmissions are super reliable, could be wrong, but I see a lot of people reviewing their older S550 GT’s with 80K+ miles with no engine or trans issues. Maybe a fluke?

Have issues with the adaptive tables, for quite a while. When I was at Ford we were always redoing the adaptives. In contrary, many auto manufactures have been using adaptive tables for at least decades, infrequently needing to get reset unless services on the power train were done. I do not have the answers on the why, but after resetting the adaptives the cars seem OK so they get delivered as fixed.

I just dropped it off a few days ago. They probably haven't looked at it yet. The CDF DRUM is the number 1 issue with these transmissions. I had a 2020 (bought used22k)with no issues . Traded in on brand new 22, which developed the issue and after numerous "repairs" transmission failed(32k miles) Car was bought back by Ford. Used the buyback money to buy the 24. Now at 9k miles it has same exact problems. I guess I have to wait and see what they do on this one. I literally just want a Mustang GT with a good transmission in it. It seems that they would have solved the issue on these transmissions by now.

Hey Mega, keep in mind there are thousands of F150's having the same issues with their A10's as well. There's even a few class action lawsuits on these transmissions. I'd like to think it's a fluke, but since this is number 2 in 2 years, and 2 cars (both brand new) for me, I think the issue was never resolved.

Man, wasn’t aware of that. Are 100% of all A10’s affected?

No, I don't think so. I think it's lurking under the surface in most though. My 2020 GT PREMIUM had zero issues, period. I bought it used and put 26k miles on it in 13 or 13 months. Traded it in with 48k.

So what do you experience when it fails?
It started with a harsh clunking when putting in reverse or drive, delayed engagement. Then harsh shifting up and down, then some slipping, followed by searching for gears (off throttle), more slipping. The 2022 transmission failed completely as i was driving on the freeway, dumped a bunch of fluid and I'm sure there was at least a little fire going on. Wasn't on fire when I stopped. Could have happened tho.

Crazy, never heard about it. Anything to prevent it?
