Hey guys, going to be getting a whipple soon. Oil pump gears as well as CS.

On fence with stage 1 or 2. I know stage 1 has the warranty. But how has the process with whipple been to actually get them to honour claims made for the warranty? I know stage 2 makes more power and it’s not covered unfortunately. I want this car to live long. I don’t drive stupid and I baby the car. I’d hate to get stage 1 wishing I got the 2 only to have an issue that whipple doesn’t cover with the warranty.
cheers

i have not worked with Whipple, but from what a co-worker of mine who has has said, they are alright to deal with. i will ask him on Monday and report back. my dealer has installed 3 or 4 Ford Performance Whipple kits and have heard no issues about them, plus you really have to outright abuse these engines for them to start having problems. you are also able to upgrade from Stage 1 to 2 at a later date, costing $1700 for a new throttle body, intake tube, and tune file

If they find out you did OPG they could void your stage 1 warranty. Go stage 2, the tune is much better.

Also the first thing I would be worried about is the transmission and they only cover $2,000 towards that repair

Ok that’s reassuring to hear. You planning boost down the line?

Opg would void it? Seriously?

Ok… my 2 cents.
Get the cats off the car, either headers or deletes.
Go stage 2, don’t waste money/time with stage 1, upgrading later is crazy expensive

Don’t bother with OPGs, huge waste of time and money.

Don’t worry about warranty… you just have to get it out of your mind, if you eat a piston, put an aluminator in it, if you smoke a 10r80, get it rebuilt/beefed
It will probably snap a driver side axle minimum, either plug a gt350 in or plan on ford racing sticks..

you just need to be prepared to throw some “oh shit money” around

Making current decisions based on imaginary future outcomes is crazy… worrying about whipple warranty claims and who pays what etc… nope… huge waste of time and thought power.

Ok I get it. I have a manual. I was trying to avoid headers :( just because these motors get SO raspy with them….
