How is it powered: main power source and remote turn-on (if necessary)? If a remote turn-on is used, which fuse is it connected to?

First one I grabbed remote signal from LOC (not my fav thing to do as its signal sensing). Second one I used the AMP PRO interface from PAC and it has its own

LOC converted bass signal from two of the four wires coming out of subwoofer harness (they both got the same signal)

everything wired straight from battery and grounded to chassis (shaved metal under rear seat bracket)

Anyone else?
You can also do a remote turn on to the window/locks fuse but you 110% need to grab power from the battery. The window switches stay on until you open the driver door. I don’t recommend the door fuse remote tap because ever since the latest update, the radio has a 2-3 second delay before shutting off after opening the door. You might lose bass for those 2 seconds.

Yeah get the audio control LC2i and you use speaker level inputs and it turns itself on, then use the remote out to the amp.

I will be using an amp that has an Auto Remote Turn-On. Which color wires off the existing sub (I am assuming that is the best source to tap in to) should I use? This install is going into a convertible. Also, will I will tap into these wires and still have them connected to the existing sub?
Lastly, if using a remote gain control, where has is it been mounted?
