I gave you an opportunity to quote what Mustang you wanted. You just reposted an old rant. You can't quote price specs or performance of what you want. We all want awesome cars but to keep beating your stick of pie in the sky performance for $55,000 means you are bothered. Sure the Vette is a good comparison but that C8 is awesome. But just because the C8 is awesome doesn't mean the Mustang is bad. Bottom line you are not debating you are just citing stuff to fit your narrative almost like another BOT on here. Well, go ahead and continue, I am going for a drive.
you aren’t granting opportunities around here.

and I pointed to my post because I laid out my thoughts there.

anyone can post up their dream scenario, followed by the whiners claiming it would be too expensive (yet not an issue for GM), too impossible, or some other excuse to be a Luddite. Ford can do better and they can start by not over promising and underdelivering, setting high expectations, then giving us an old car with 12 year old performance.

what I’ve posted so far is a legit critique of the s650 as related to its lagging sales.

I understand such critique will hurt the feeelings of those who bought s650, especially the dark horse. Not my intent, but certainly collateral damage. If I could shield my fellow Mustang enthusiast from this, I would. But there it is. I hope Ford takes these thoughts (I’m not the only one) and gets some true outperforming car guys on the board and on the engineering and design teams and presses the pedal to the medal with this thing. The cruise control is worn out already.

go snag a used 2020 gt500 then… you can find clean low mile example for under 80. Handle like they’re on rails and make all the TQ. Easily modded to make 1000RWHP AND LAST.

so… the new car isn’t new enough and the solution is to buy an old one?

The new 500 isn’t out and will be out of your target price range… unless you’re ready to get into a 160-200k ā€œ mustangā€

overpricing performance Mustangs is part of the problem. Thanks for making the point.

It’s reminiscent of the 90s where someone had to pay a lot more money to buy a mustang cobra that wasn’t even as fast as a much more affordable Camaro z28. Not a good look for Ford.

yet you still advocated buying an old car when the new car not being new enough was the issue.

and trying to be on the humble side, but you have no idea of my price range.

What are other alternatives that are Coupe N/A V8 sport cars that have less or equal price.

I found none in my search for a sports car.

hence the many history lessons given in this thread.

just because the Camaro stopped being sold like…yesterday doesn’t mean it’s price isn’t relevant in this discussion.

and just because the Camaro isn’t around anymore doesn’t mean we can just pretend it’s ok for Ford to charge too much because - ā€œwell, look at the Ferrari price, Bob. The Mustang is cheaper than that!ā€ Completely disingenuous.

Marty the S650 is everything But an amazing value but kudos to Ford to make the only car with a manual and a V8…That alone makes it better and more fun to drive than the C8 which is only great if you like a comfortable cruiser with a nice interior because sports car feeling and experience it does not give you…Way too numb and no sound inside way too refined and not raw or exiting at all…Mustang sales should have soared because the 30000 folks who bought Camaros , 30000 who bought Vettes when they were still affordable and had manuals and 120000 who bought Challengers and Chargers new are looking at the lone survivor now ! But Mustang S550 owners dont see a reason to buy new especially looking šŸ‘€ at the prices and only the touchscreens are new which really does nothing to enhance the car more the opposite as buttons or knobs are easier to operate and dont take your eyes of the road navigating through various screens as drivers of gen6 Camaros as bad as the Camaro was looking at cheap interior , useless rear seat / trunk and lack of visibility had a stronger feeling engine and better handling as the Challenger is the older platform but still has more charm as looks and fun to drive goes with the torquey Hemi and short gearing that helps to overcome the added weight…But interior and trunk size make it a better daily…Here Ford left lots of sales potential on the plate by going cheap and not all new…IMHO Of course quality issues and constant recalls make matters not any better and should get addressed ASAP because competition is only getting harder in the years to come and lots of OEMs will have to merge and/or wont survive…Especially the so called bread and butter brands competing at lower profit margins for people who have not necessarily more money…LOL

Sad truth is there is no alternative anymore unless you dont need V8 sound as in BMW M2/3/4 which still have a manual and can be had with up to 1000hp and AWD to actually put the power down…Saw a video on youtube I think National Speed where a M3 did likd a 2.5 0-60 and 9.8 /142 in the quarter with looked like no hardware changes which is insane šŸ‘

Stuck in the past…. 2024 onwards, Camaro, Challenger, Charger… they all pulled the plug on the V8. I had no alternatives in that price range. Its simple. And not interested in used car. I like them new.

Am not so happy with the price either, am the one paying not the one receiving. In my opinion it is overpriced but still affordable for a young man.

I’d take a mustang any day over any crappy BMW regardless of power.

Owned one, never will do that mistake again in my life. They are built to fail and punch a whole through pockets.

Bimmers used to deserve that rap. But lately they’re tops in quality and reliability. It’s a new day.

Crappy BMW…LOL I think looking at recalls and warranty costs Ford is topping that list unfortunately…I mean even Toyota let BMW design and produce their Supra says a lot as the B58 makes Lots of power and that very reliable…1000 hp from a stock block that has only 3 liters is nothing to sneer at…Or up to 700 with only a tune with stock components reliable neither ! Also AWD if you live in regions where it snows or if you dont drive on prepped surfaces that can be engaged all the time or switched to rwd or 4 doors if you have family or station wagon if dogs is not bad either for people who need more than only 2 seats…
