Ford made too many Mach E's and had to get rid of them. They were up to $13,000 off around here

they aren't "pushing" them they did anything they could to get them off the books

if they only sold 3,000 Mustang GT's in six months and had them piling up on the lots they would do the same thing!

Well... The market, is in relatively poor health. Bank interest rates are significantly impacting the purchase of ‘fun’ cars that sacrifice practicality. None of us need a Mustang or Dark Horse, we want them. Ford is SIGNIFICANTLY discounting the Mach E, making the purchase more attractive. They’re not incentivizing buying a GT or Dark Horse. So Ford is telling the market it wants EV Mustangs, not the other way around.

I don’t attribute all of this to corp. greed, the regulations and compliance in the EU are more difficult to meet and account for.

This.

They are overpricing the Mustang line, but that is likely subsidizing the Mach E discounts.
That’s why I hate those headlines. They don’t realize that it’s one big issue as you stated. Doesn’t Ford also lose money on all those Mach E’s? So giving them away essentially is terrible.

Basically saying the Mustang going upmarket hurt sales and the Mach E wasn’t the big payoff they thought it would be. They would be hurting on both sides.

I thought I read somewhere that they do (lose money on the Mach E). It wouldn’t be surprising, motorcycle companies do it on some models; typically the ‘win on sunday, sell on monday’ type models.

here is motor1 from earlier in the year: https://www.motor1.com/news/719482/...In fact, the Model e,three months of the year. and there were similar articles later on.

That’s not a sustainable model year over year and is no doubt why we’re seeing “bold new graphics”, with little substantive changes on vehicles like the Raptor and Mustang.

If I wanted to buy a Corvette I would have. Then I would have joined a Corvette forum. I didn't, I wanted the '24 mustang DH. That's what I bought and joined a mustang forum. There are a lot of other options that I could have spent my money on, but I bought what I wanted.
I sold my 94 C4 with 47000 miles on it to fund the 2024 Mustang buy

I came close to picking up a 2013 Z06 with stupid low miles on it before I ordered the Mustang (that never showed up so I bought one from inventory)

So I am a member of several Corvette forums

I have also owned a Porsche Boxster S which was an incredible bang for the buck, and we had that car 20 years.

I have 2 Alfa Romeo's, one of them for close to 40 years.

I normally have at least 3 motorcycles in the garage at any given time, I am down to 2 now as I sold my Kawasaki Concours 14 which could run circles around a Mustang, as could my Kawi ZRX and ZZR1200

So I am on forums for those bikes too

If I buy another fun car it will be a Miata, great bang for the buck, it is not fast but once it gets momentum they are a blast

My neighbor who has a 2024 Corvette and about a dozen other cars, he owned the nicest green 67 GT I ever saw in my life until he sold it last spring, wekk he showed up with a new Miata over the summer. He sold his 2019 Bullitt to get a 22 Vette that the dealer wrecked which is how he got a 24 Vette.

So I am not loyal to Ford, they do not make a great product, want to see the frame on my truck that rotted away after 62K mikes? I found that out when I went to pull the transmission out that failed... no need to fix a transmission if the truck is junk.

The 5.4 fiasco with the spark plugs, the VCT failures, etc etc etc keep me in work when I am back in the shop in the summer.

How about those nice capped chrome lug nuts on Fords that you can't get a socket or lug wrench on.... I have 2 sets of Steelman +.5mm sockets from 18.5 to 22.5mm just to get those suckers off customer cars.

My last 4 daily drivers have been Toyota products. Outside of batteries, fluids, filters, tires and brakes they have needed nothing, none have ever had to go back to the dealers, and they only come in my bay for scheduled services and wear items

My effn Mustang had to go back for a bad SRS harness before I burned thru the first tank of gas.

Recently I had that complete system lockout/no start that there is a TSB out on but not well publicized. My scanner was showing pages upon pages of codes. It acted like a low voltage issue but it is a programming fault with the ABS module on Job 1 cars and early Job 2 production for 2024

So to put it bluntly, I am not a Ford cheerleader, and there are many cars out there that are equally as fun to drive.

Ford makes just as good of a product as the rest of them. Abuse your Chevys/Toyotas the same way you abuse your Ford's and they won't hold up either. I have a 2011 F350 that I have plowed snow with since it was new and do not have any frame rot on that truck. But then again it gets an undercarriage wash after aleach plowing event. Hell Toyota was giving away new Tacomas due to frame rot. I spent over 25 years in the auto repair industry and know damn well that 80% of customer issues are self inflicted usually from lack of maintenance. I will give you the 5.4 spark plug issues on the 3V motors, however I have never had an issue getting the broken plugs out. But at the end of the day I am here on a Mustang forum to discuss Mustangs, not listen to chaps like you telling us that we would have been better off spending out money on a used C8. đŸ€Šâ€â™‚ïž

Fully depends on the dealer. The only way to get the price agreed upon is through a letter of guarantee or in some kind of writing. And even then, I wouldn't put it past dealers to wiggle their way out of the deal.

This. Get it in writing, on paper, signed is your best bet.

I have a printout that i had signed that has my info on it. I had ordered jeeps before and the price was not locked in until it was actually ordered. Didn't know if Ford did the same thing.
