Anyone know what kind of car this is.

I don't understand very expensive cars. I'd be too stressed by other drivers around me, who may be uninsured, or simply careless. Door dings in parking lots, poorly-maintained streets causing scrapes, etc. etc.

Is it really 10x as fun as a Mustang?
When you have that kind of money and multiple cars, you don't stress over such things.

When I moved over from CA. 8 years ago to N.Scottsdale I was blown away seeing all the high end cars being driven around on a daily basis. Use to see a Bentley parked at the Walmart in Cave Creek. Now that’s what I call the ultimate grocery getter.
Have you gone to the Scuderia Southwest Coffee and Cars in DC Ranch? Millions of dollars of exotic cars parked on display the first Saturday each month, Fall through Spring. Alpio’s at Troon North has a nice little gathering every second Sat. He has a nice small collection of muscle cars and memorabilia.
This is when I realized I had nothing in common with these people and makes me appreciate my Mustang that much more.

No sound. Thought it was an EV with fake exhaust tips at first.

i recognize that overpass. southern side of Hayden Rd and Loop 101 Pima Freeway. hello fellow desert dweller!

in the Scottsdale area there is plenty of expensive traffic. Lamborghinis, Ferraris, McLarens, Aston Martins, Porsches, and the like are normal, people drive them all times of year. its to the point where a few months ago i saw a Nissan Juke Nismo and was actually excited about it and not the Raptor R next to it. Scottsdale even used to have a Koenigsegg dealer, before it became a McLaren dealer, and i think now its Lawrence Motorsports but they also sell new McLarens. roads around here are also fairly well maintained and the freeways are great because of how new they are compared to other states' (especially San Jose's spaghetti roller coasters). these people usually go to places with valet parking, like Scottsdale Quarter
Yep Hayden/101. I live in McDowell Mtns. on our way to a Taco Tuesday avoiding the 101. The construction and traffic are real bad right now.

I might have seen your car at the roundabout by Scottsdale Harley several months ago. The plates were azureus and the exhaust tips looked a little wonky. We’re always over there, between Costco for gas and the HD dealer for parts (3 bikes).

I think the McLaren dealer became Autoboom and Lawrence became (or is becoming) McLaren. My son knows better as Lawrence had some GT500’s he was interested in buying and was wondering where those cars ended up.

I’ve been to Alpio’s place during events. Nice guy, nice place, nice collection. Not for cars and coffee yet. My plan is to build a GT40 with my son as my next car/project and bring it to cars and coffee to be along side Ferraris. If it’s still around, I’d go there then.

I don’t like how much people stress over gaps and squeaks with mass produced cars. I’d have loftier expectations if it was a car that was 10x the price of a Mustang.

Here in AZ we have a lot of uninsured, which bothers me A LOT. I try to be a good citizen and have the same expectation of others. One hit my rare 2022 ecoboost with the manual. My insurance company was awesome. Within a month the car was fixed and I traded it in on my 2024 GT with a stick.

Because there are a lot of mass produced cars with way less gaps and squeeks as American cars. This means it has nothing to do with mass produced cars. Here in Europe we see gaps as a car that was totalled and was rebuilt. And unfortunately a lot of brand new Mustangs come with gaps from the factory like it was totalled and rebuilt. Nobody wants to buy a brand new car in Europe that looks like that. That's the only reason why I did not configure my car but searched on dealer inventory, just to look at all the gaps and choose the one that has no issues.
I think 50% of all Mustangs have those famous panel gaps on the front bumper - headlights - hood - trunk - rear bumper. So I had to pass a lot of Mustangs that I like just to find one that looks acceptable.

oh yeah, that was me. i need to replace the exhaust because while it is titanium, it just wont keep any sort of adjustments i make. the Lawrence Motorsport guys come to my dealer for service and thats what i heard from them. they just sold a really nice 2022 GT500 CFTP Heritage. cant remember if it had painted stripes or not. you can tell because the painted ones have a "GT500" between the hood vent and windshield

When you have that kind of money you don't worry about other people causing an accident!

My son was looking at the older GT500’s, maybe 2014? The ones with manual transmission not the newer ones with DCT. He likes GT350’s but only with Gen 2 engine. But for less money, he then was thinking about S550 with a whipple. I am not as up on all the models/years/features/issues as he is.

I think he’s backtracked on going that route and instead is looking forward to helping with building a GT40 and sticking to his first and second preferences, Jeeps and Harleys. We like to wrench as much as ride/drive and are in need of another project.

I wonder if he’s ever been to your dealer looking at what you have. We’re both motorheads (well actually engine, since motor = electric 🤣).

I may be the outlier here…

One thing I like about the Mustang, especially the GT is they’re relatively cheap. You really do get a lot for the money. So I don’t have lofty expectations. I’ve got some Ford fixable flaws, the plastic (side skirt and bumper) to metal body panel gaps are horrendous (I believe there’s a fix for that) and the crack in the lower left of the driver screen (I know there’s a fix for that), but I really don’t care enough to have them fixed.

My longer term plan is to build a GT40 from a kit, which are notorious for lousy panel fit especially the ones based on original molds. But they’re purpose built. If I spent 400k on an Aston Martin, Ferrari, etc. my expectations would be a lot higher, but I don’t hang with the art of perfection crowd. I’m a driver not a poser. 🤣

Can you show me a picture of your side skirt flaw if you have time to make it? I also have a side skirt flaw. It's a side panel on the rear that doesn't click on the car for some reason and looks a bit loose. That's the only flaw I found on my Mustang and I took it like that. Otherwise it was a very hard mission to find one with zero flaws that have the same color and same options as what I was looking for.

This is my panel gap

@DarkMatterGrey DAMN! Pretty close call you had with Jim in his Aston!

Good thing he didn't need to use the rockets or miniguns 😱 on some international super bad guys while you were behind him! 😆
