Sitting waiting for this do not deliver recall to rectify and trying to burn time reading the owners manual I noticed the breaking in 1600kms.

Just wondering if any one with their cars delivered are getting oil changed/service/check up done and if it's dealer included?

I always do an oil change at the complimentary 3000 km inspection. But It's the same story every time, I ask for an oil change, the service advisor then gets all stroppy trying to explain that its not included in the 3000km inspection, that Ford uses running-in oil, and that I'd have to pay for it. Umm? Well, I'm not stupid, of course I will have to pay for it.

Thing is, it depends on who you talk to. Some say that new engines don't need to be ran-in anymore, that running-in comes from a time when engines were made with less precision. You then have service advisors telling customers to keep the "running-in" oil in the sump for 15,000 km. I guess the concept being you don't want to switch to synthetic too early? Then the argument switches to not wanted any fine metal particles floating around after the break in, so an early oil change is good practice. Then others will say that's what the oil filter is for. I could go on and on.....................

Personally, oil is cheap, and I doubt anyone has ruined an engine by changing the oil too early or too often. Also, don't baby the thing! I mean, don't bash the limiter driving out of the dealers lot, but don't be afraid to let it work and spin. You will otherwise have a lazy engine that's more likely to burn oil.

Of course, my opinion.

I'll prob do the same, I always change oil at 5000kms on my cars, exactly what you said oil is cheap so may as well.

Is the standard change 15k kms damn that's crazy, oil must be getting better hehehe

I believe they drained the oil (wet mark on the underbody cover) at the "Peace of Mind" service......but as DFB5.0 stated, if you don't request they won't offer - would have liked axle and transmission freshened up as well.

I'd be surprised they did any of that.

This was the condition of the battery on my S550 after paying for a $550+ service. And that's despite them apparently inspecting the battery, which was printed on the invoice, the report you have posted above, and the emailed report...................................

Yeah, they inspected nothing! But did manage to spill oil down onto my exhaust manifold so the car smelt like a 1980's Magna with shot valve guides. They ended up replacing the battery, terminal and Ctek whip line, but even then, they screwed up by blowing out the battery box and showering my engine bay in lead sulfate, which then required extensive cleaning on my own behalf.

I think if they stopped wasting time taking photos of your car on the hoist and filling out condition reports, then maybe they wouldn't screw things up. Why is it so hard for people to do their job properly.
