Hello,

Why is it that when i close my door, and immediately touch the lock button on the handle, it doesnt lock, i have to wait like 5 seconds till it responds to my touch. Is this normal?

I've noticed a delay in mine as well. However, some days, it is instant. Oh well. Due to my OCD, I hit the lock button multiple times on my vehicle when I lock it to wait/hear for the horn just to give me a piece of mind.

I have this issue as well but I perceive it as the lock ā€œbuttonā€ working intermittently. Sometimes it works on the first try, sometimes it doesnā€™t.

I donā€™t have the same problem with the unlock function when I grab the handle so Iā€™m guessing the area you touch to lock it isnā€™t as sensitive as itā€™s supposed to be. (Also, same feature on my ā€˜21 Explorer always works the first time)

This will be on my list of warranty issues when I bring it in for its first oil change.

If I'm going to lock the car immediately after getting out, I hit the "inside the door" lock button on my way out and just shut the door.
Because of the same problem with touching the exterior handle?

My door handles don't show fingerprints.
Mine probably don't either, it's just a habit from other vehicles to save an extra step.

Just finished a wash before the sun got too high, the ceramic sure makes that a quick job. Added this cart to the arsenal a few weeks ago, should have done it years ago.

Hope to do that in a few.

Got my Active 2.0 and hose reel all mounted in the garage. Love my setup.

I never have an issue with my lock button but I do have issues getting in the door sometimes. Sometimes it simply will not unlock when I go to open a door. I have to hit the unlock button on my fob in order for it to unlock

Update: I had my dealer look at it yesterday. The service advisor let me speak directly to the shop foreman / tech and he said the antennas on the Mustang aren't as large or well-placed as those on my '21 Explorer (my point of comparison for how this feature should work) and the behaviour is typical and they can't do anything about it.

I'm not super happy about this but I'm getting used to it. I'll probably need to get used to it again next spring after mostly driving my other car which locks/unlocks every time on the first try.

Mine work perfectly fine. Both doors. I use them multiple times a day.
