The kid next door to me has a Dodge Challenger R/T, he apparently thinks it's makes him god in everybody eyes. Every time he leaves he has to rev it up on the drive and then half way burns rubber down our 35mph residential street every time he leaves. When he parks it back on the drive has to beep his door lock like 7 times to make sure every body hears it, lol. He has no job, no friends, no girlfriend and at almost 50 years old lives with his almost 80 year old parents, lol.

I don't race people, but if I had a nickel for every time a Tesla thought I was racing them, floored it, and drove into a tree, I'd have $0.10. People in Chargers and Camaros will rev at Ecoboosts, they're just bored, don't lose your license over it.

I get this all the time from the sky high jacked up junkers and some other random rabble. I just roll the window down and bark at them. They leave quickly. I had one that gives every muscle car in my town grief. It's a total shitbox Dodge with a pos lift and thrift store rims . He was sitting in front of the town wawa with his gf. I was already parked and on my way out. As I'm opening the door to walk out I hear him say must be a fat bald guy who owns that. I walk past and go son if you want a fat bald guy car. You gotta make fat bald guy money and by the condition of your truck your wallets skinnier than your jeans. His gf laughed her ass off he's left me alone since.

PS: Do you ever get funny looks from people, like what’s that old bugger doing in a Mustang?
Boy I sure do.
We Baby Boomers are the original gear heads…we grew up with the Mustang, so WE belong in a Mustang more than the other generations! 👍🇺🇸

The 5.7 crowd pretty much knows to lay low around yotes.

Testosterone is a helluva drug, it takes a lot of will just to take a deep breath and engage the fore-brain. The inside voice going: "ignore them" or "not worth it", etc. There are so many jokers out there it's a wonder some of these people can drive at all, even badly.

This could lead to a new advertising campaign...

Ford Mustang- slightly faster than a Dodge Pickup Truck, although we aren't sure if we were racing or not.

I often see Chargers and Challengers speeding and weaving through traffic here in Florida with their loud exhausts. It seems like some young drivers are forgetful about the power of the 400+hp cars they can now afford at 17 yo. They seem to forget that these cars are like 3,000-pound stee-rockets on the road.
More like 4,000+ lb ships on the streets and they truly are “earning” a name for themselves now!! Nopar!!! And I don’t know about Florida but I do catch vids of these cars (mainly Hellcats but some Scatpack 392’s) being stolen from owners and now Dealerships well. This is a shame on all fronts.

I have the 6.4L Hemi in my 300C. I've had plenty of younger crowd Mustang owners want to race who think my car is a 300S with the 5.7L because of the exhaust note.

When I had my 2024 Mustang I would look over and laugh at the 5.7L Hemi owners who wanted to race, both of my sons included. They are giving up to much weight, power and torque to a stock 5.0 Coyote Mustang.

The (1) 5.0 owner that knew what the "C" on the back of my car meant that wanted to race kept asking me to punch it to see if he could take me off the line. Asked if I wanted to go.... I said sure...... I opened the panoramic roof, cranked up the stereo, put it in "sport" mode and when the light turned green I smoothly with style and grace eased away from the light while he squealed his tires and looked like a fool. That Coyote does sound nice though.

I'm sure once the "bugs" are worked out in the Mustangs I will most likely get another and have my (2) big V8s I always wanted to have in retirement.

My neighbor (although he is across the road and 300 yards away) has a newish Challenger of some sort, sounds modified or some high HP edition thing. A few times each summer he pulls it out onto the road, does a few big smokey burnouts, drives off for 5 minutes and then puts it away. He's no youngster...but his wife is. Whatever dude...still weird though.

In my area people are pretty used to a little small arms target practice, burning brush piles and general rural living shenanigans but on one of his burnout days, a particularly impressive one, I saw a fire truck roll by a few minutes later. Some suburb transplant must have thought a house was on fire.

Those new Hurrican RAMs could be a handful if they end up being able to be tuned.
