Is a basic battery charger with trickle on it ok to use?
I have a couple older tenders from Griots Garage called battery tender III and it did not work. The charger just got really warm. See photo for what did not work for me.

Thank you for this post believe it or not. I have my Ford Mustang for 11 months now and I just recently found out that I connected mine incorrectly. I got both negative and positive terminal directly connected on the battery itself!! old school style. I hope I didn’t damage my car so far so good. It runs no problem. I have the NORCO 1amp

It won't hurt anything but the car won't know how charged the battery is so if it thinks the battery is low it will turn stuff off to save battery soon as you turn car off stuff like Ford pass location and lock may not work
