It's really nice, but I don't understand why you changed the battery now? Is it for weight savings?Put a new OPTIMA DH6 in my Dark Horse today. Rated at 800 CCA, tested at an unbelievable 1,229 CCA!![]()

I have a tool for doing that.Be sure to reset the BMS (battery management system)
I have not tried this in the DH yet, but in my 2021 F150:
If you see the battery icon flash 3 times as described above, you have reset your BMS.
- Ignition ON, Engine OFF
- Headlights on
- Note the solid battery icon in the speedo display
- Flash the high beams five times in a row
- Press and release the brake pedal 3 times
- Wait approximately 10 seconds while watching the battery icon in the speedo display - it should flash three times, then go back solid.
- Turn the ignition off.
You should do this after replacing a battery OR after a DEEP charge in the event you let your battery get low.
I retired from the company 10 years ago, so they asked me to do an install. I was the Sales Director when I retired. It's really nice, but I don't understand why you changed the battery now? Is it for weight savings?
