Recaro seats will delete your turn signals. WHY?

So we are on the same boat.
I'll let you know when I got this figured out.
I sent some e-mails to my dealership to see if they can look it up.

I hope the harness is there so I can order a new set of side mirrors. I don't want to drill holes or place aftermarket turn signals on a car like this.
If you are PCSing to Germany I believe that your vehicle would just need to be compliant with your local laws of your HOR and pass the base safety inspection. If you decided to ETA/retire in Germany and stay there, then you would be required to bring your vehicle to their standards/regulations. I would advise asking these questions of the transportation office as they are most likely to know the real answer and not the barracks lawyers that heard that their buddies buddy had to do XYZ to get their '90s Honda Civic that was held together with spit and bubble gum into the country.

I'm European and moving to Europe. In order to register my car I need to change the lights to European standards.

Got it, and that makes perfect sense. I guess my comment was more directed at the service member that is looking at a possible PCS.

I have recaros, 401A package, and no turn signals in the mirrors. However, I do have the blind spot indicators in the mirror which means they are wired for more than just adjustment controls.

All that said, only a wiring diagram can tell you if the harness can be multi purposes or not. Your Ford dealership absolutely has access to that and can answer that question.
Mine has the Recaro seats with heating steering wheel and blind spot indicator. I didn’t even think about the integrated turn signals. I’ll be following this thread as I might be stationed in Germany in a couple years. Will you let me know if you get this figured out?
Sorry, I should have specified further.
The Blind Spot indicator is still available as that is wired to the sensors hidden behind the shell of the rear bumper. That wiring is different than the wiring that goes to the mirror turn signal.

All this doesn’t make sense to me. It sounds like a design stuff up by Ford in the wiring harnesses specific to your (and other?) options. If there are still blind spot warning lights and inwards turning of the mirrors when you lock the car, then there are clearly wires going to the mirrors. Why not those for the blinkers?

Anyway, we have an Australian spec Dark Horse with the 700A package and Recaros. The mirrors have the blinkers and they work.

Yeah, all overseas Mustangs have the blinkers. Wanna trade? Lol

Get the wiring diagram for your model year (for USDM and Export, not only for you VIN!), and wire it to the BCM.
Ground is there, you only need one wire to each mirror.
Maybe in the same step you can wire the amber blinkers for the rear lights and the rear fog light.

But I'm not sure, if ForScan can code the S650 in regard of the blinkers and if the necessary coding is already documented!
You need to check!

Or get in touch with one of the companies, that sells USDM S650 in Germany e.g. https://mustang302.de/
They should be able to do all necessary things for you.

Yeah, all overseas Mustangs have the blinkers.
They even have folding mirrors! 😜

Yeah the mirrors are way bigger, they fold and have blinkers. You guys have different wiring inside the car.

Thank you, glad people are looking out but I’m already tracking. I did a good amount looking into it for the last couple months. It has to do with various things regarding SOFA, it has to pass local safety regulations and if I drive the car to other countries in the EU it has to be EU compliant and isn’t protected by SOFA. No barracks lawyering here, over 23 years in the service here.

Awesome. Thank you for your service. I will also have 23 years of service in May. I am ending it there though, it isn't fun anymore. Personally if I was in that position I would probably just store the Mustang stateside and buy the local "hooptie" and beat on that while I am there and sell it to the next guy on my way out the door and come back to a pristine Mustang.

Yeah the mirrors are way bigger, they fold and have blinkers.
Not much bigger and they're actually all kind of the same, no matter what's inside.
I prefer the larger mirror, makes it easier to watch traffic behind me on the Autobahn. Probably not necessary in the US because most people drive at a similar speed on the highway.
They are only bigger because the mirror has to be a mandatory minimum size for ECE.
You can even retrofit BLIS (on the EU S550), which was never available from the factory (for EU S550), but there are mirror glasses with BLIS for EU mirrors.

Means, you should also be able to go the whole route, adding the full package (power folding, blinkers, BLIS, heated and mandatory power adjustment). Power folding is usefull for parking over here.

In the end, Ford was just too cheap for a few meters of copper in every car...

If I want the folding mirror I need to also change the harness inside the door panel and maybe change more wiring and programming.

There are 5 different harenesses in the door panels.

1. Basic Mustang
2. Premium Mustang
3. Premium Mustang with 201A, 401A and 700A
4. Overseas Mustang
5. Unknown

Only option 4 has the harness with folding mirrors.

Folding is not much extra efford.
From the S550 (S650 should be the same).
The relay is located next to the BCM.

You would first have to find out how many free connector cavities there are in the door plugs, on both sides.

S650 Mustang Recaro seats will delete your turn signals. WHY? 1736438224219-d4

If I was technical, maybe I would go the full route, but for my concern, I only want to add the turn signals on the side mirrors.

How likely is the chance that I can just buy the mirrors with turn signals and get it to work with my Premium GT? From the information I found, the harness that I have inside my vehicle supports turn signals.
