the big issue is most eff up the mass airflow that's where the CEL lights come from and other issues. Popped mine out with no problems i have a mt car it helped a bit with throttle response.
If this "tune" won't be offered in Europe, then I call it BS. We need it actually more since we suffer a power loss of 50BHP for the DH. Removing carbon traps...yes I have read that somewhere else too, but risking failure or loosing warranty for 10-15 BHP. Nah, ain't worth it.

I sincerely hope this tuning mod will be available for Europeans too.
Are headers with the tune greater horsepower than stated here?
IMO, headers are just as much of a controversy as the carbon trap removal.
My very reputable tuner/mustang shop in Chicago area told me a story recently where he had a customer spend over $2.5k for headers installed and the after dyno netted 0 hp on his Mach 1.
He told the customer beforehand that it’s not worth it and after the customer was all pissed off at him. Headers are a huge waste in $ for HP.
If you want to be louder then that’s what you get mostly

If this tune only delivers on average a 25 whp gain, I'll have to pass. I doubt it will net much more than this. Not worth the money and subsequent labor some will have to opt for.

On the 10R80, it has never been a paragon of durability. Why do you think the GT500 comes with a 7 speed DCT?

If they got 0 hp with headers they did something wrong

It's not about the HP, but the throttle response, shifting points (AT) and raised rpm limiter. So it's actually "faster" overall. Is it worth the price.. that's questionable.
The GT500 comes with that gearbox because it performs better, it's expensive and you (FORD) need to offer a warranty on it. The GT500 it's not a GT "with a supercharger".

My point is it’s a huge waste of money per horse power dollars unless you’re going with Forced induction down the road:
Especially without tuning or running E85.

Yea definitely not worth the cost of headers and install

If the cost was reasonable I'd look at a 30 something HP Ford boost. But otherwise I'll leave it stock.
A stage 1 tune on a turbo engine usually gives good results, but my limited results with NA street engines doesn't encourage me.

Is this something done over the air like the "updates" we get? or is this something you have to take it to a Ford dealer and they have to do it?

It's shipped with their flashing tool. AFAIK you need to have it performed by a Ford authorized deal to get the warranty on it.

Between, since they can do anything OTA, why they aren't shipping this "virtual"? When it's just the software (nor additional hardware mods), you could buy it online, add your VIN, and the update will be "installed" to your car.

Lots of naysayers here regarding potential price vs HP gains. Apparently I am the only person excited to be able to join the over 500 HP club without turning a bolt (it's just bragging rights, let's be honest). We don't have all the details about this tune yet or the cost. Might not be worth it, but will say I'm interested until proven otherwise that it is not worth the money.

No, you are not the only one excited about this. I too will jump on this as soon as it’s released to the Public. Will be the 3rd CAI Kit I’ve purchased through Ford Performance and I do enjoy the increases in HP. 20-30 more HP is more than I had. Let those who claim that if they walk and see a $20 bill on the ground. Will they say … mehhh, it’s only $20 and move on or will it be “that‘s $20 more than I had”. Just saying …

In the end, it’s their money so they can choose to do whatever floats their boat!!

I am excited, increased HP, better throttle response, increased torque in the 2K RPM range and keep my warranty. I am all for it, this car desperately needs this IMO
