Regarding that “core segment” that you believe are alienated due to a lack of tuning, that segment are mostly younger people that would buy them used rather than new. Most Mustang buyers don’t really care about that. So far that “lack of tuning” hasn’t stopped people from buying it, same with the C8 Corvette when it came on the market for the first couple of years.

They would sell an extra 5,000 in one week if they unlocked the computer

It's not just young people that want to tune the cars. So many people kept their highly modified S550's because they can't do the same to the current model

Please don't compare to the Corvette its a an amazing machine and all new chassis that's rear engine etc. it wasn't just a ugly re-skin of the C7
