So I am about to buy the whipple stage 2 and was trying to get some help from some experienced people. I have the GT Premium, manual. I am familiar with mustangs and have drove them my whole life, but supercharging is a whole new game to me. I am trying to not spend $23,000 on this supercharger, but it seems without upgraded parts, 800+ hp might be too much for the stock car and things will end up breaking fairly quick.. I have a list I've been working on of things that I feel SHOULD be upgraded with the supercharger , but again - I'd rather save some money. Could someone walk me through if some of these parts can wait / what parts are absolutely necessary? Also let me know if I am forgetting anything. I'd prefer to just buy the whipple stage 2 and slap it on and drive, but I know thats not how it works. I'd also prefer not paying $5,000 for a whole new transmission but I know the stock trans is only rated about half of what I will be pushing soooo, little confused on how some people are just throwing whipples on and driving. Thanks for the help.
- The car is a daily driver that isn't driven crazy, but obviously I will be pushing it here and there for fun. MIGHT try the drag strip one day.
Heres the list I've built so far:
- Whipple Stage 2
- Tires
- Upgraded Clutch
- Stop the Hop kit
- Upgraded Trans
- Short shifter
- Upgraded Driveshaft
- Catch cans
- Upraded Axles
