those videos are a joke honestly. it shows a 70k+ DH BARELY beating a 9 year old design outgoing Camaro that costs WAY less money. If want to see a 2024 performance pack auto run against a 2024 LT1 camaro auto look it up Throttle house did a race. The 2024 performance pack Mustang beat it from a dig and a roll race too both autos. Throttle House also did a Dark Horse against a new Camaro. The Dark horse beat a 2024 Camaro too and the Dark Horse beat it around the track, 1/4 mile and roll race too. The Manual Dark Horse is setup for a Hero runs around a track the gears are not setup in anyway for the 1/4 mile at all. The Auto Dark horse will beat any Camaro at everything except steering feel. The Dark Horse auto times speak for themself 0-60 in 3.7 and no stock Camaro LT1 in any magazine turned in a time like that ever. The base Dark Horse with the auto would be even faster since it has less drag and weights less too. All this video proves is the Manuals in the Mustangs suck because of the gearing makes it for a slow straightline car. Ford made the Manual first gear even higher for the 2024 model year which handicapped every manual Mustang. The 2023 Mustang with the manual has a better geared manual gear box. TfL has a video of their base auto Mustang GT with 3.15 gears wiping the floor of a Manual performance pack Mustang badly by bus lenghts.
Any update regarding after improvements at the strip? We saw the before vid…More awesomeness!
This. My current S550 is in the 10s consistantly and all it took, from a performance improvement standpoint, was a Roush Phase 2 kit installed by Ford. Yes, it's a 10R80. Looking down the road to 50 years of age having a 750+ hp street car is like having tits on a bull; for me. While I LOVE this car, and the community over at M6G, I don't drive the car often enough to really need something like this in my stable.I used to street race back in the day 76-84 and an 11 second car on the street was rare and that took many modes to your car. Now kids can drive 500 - 700 hp car right off the lot that run in the 12's to 10's everything is so easy these days.
I 100% agree.This. My current S550 is in the 10s consistantly and all it took, from a performance improivement, was a Roush Phase 2 kit installed by Ford. Yes, it's a 10R80. Having owned multiple Camaros, Jeeps, Mercedes, motorcycles, blah blah blah, I am thoroughly enjoying what Ford has become and am looking forward to completing the paperwork on my DH Premium w/ tech and handling packs; hopefully today since they now have a build date.
Will it be the fastest in the 1/4? Nope
Will it be the fastest around a road course? Nope
Will it be the cheapest? Nope
Will it beat a lamborghini? bugatti? or the Millenium Falcon? Nope
HOWEVER
Will it be something everyone else has? NOPE!
Enjoy the vehicle for what it is; this one is clearly an enthusiests car not a fire breathing 1/4 drag monstor.
tj@steeda please feel free to keep these videos coming. Those of us closer to retirement, who have already measured everything that needs measuring, and who don't attach their self worth to their 1/4 times, enjoy watching this kind of content!
Well that comment was good. I am retired and bought my Dark Horse 6 speed because I wanted a V8 manual car to have fun just driving. It goes in this Friday to get my Whipple supercharger put on for even more fun. I'm just an old car guy who wants to have fun. might go to the track once or twice but we will see. I will tell you mine is Shadow Black and get lots of looks and thumbs up gestures everywhere I go. People always come up at the pumps to talk about it. Also I'm in Canada and we did not get a lot of Dark Horses up here and most seem to be automatics.This. My old company used to have offices where you are so I'm familiar with the area! I think I have only seen 1 Dark Horse in the wild in Ontario and it was that colour that everyone seems to drive. Looking forward to getting my white one!!!Well that comment was good. I am retired and bought my Dark Horse 6 speed because I wanted a V8 manual car to have fun just driving. I have not seen another one in the wild. Mine is black but I did go in wanting the white storm trooper look but for ordering the handling package at the time were on hold. So I luckily found the car I wanted but it was black and the person who ordered it backed out so I got it and waited less than a month to get it as it was built before I ordered it. As for the Whipple I can't wait. It is being installed by the dealer I got the car from. I got the stage 1 with the warranty and it's good for over 700 at the wheels I couldn't do it myself because to heavy. Okay what is the color everyone has? Now I think black is the best it works well with the mat black DH trim. Not sure if you have your DH yet but they are fun to drive. I'll have to keep tabs on your posts to see how your whipple experince goes; who is doing the work for you?
I don’t know the colour nomenclature but it’s that blue grey? Most YouTube videos I see have that one. It looks sharp and the black accept contrast is super clean but it’s everywhere so I went a different route.I have not seen another one in the wild. I hope you get your car soon. I love the storm trooper look and went in for one but it was not in the cards. As for the whipple ordered it the same day I bought the car and waited 5 months for it. One of the selling points of the Dark Horse was it's boost friendly engine. however I'm in Canada so I payed basically twice what they sell for in the US. Plus there is no ASE mechanics up here so I had to get the dealer install it. $$$$I don’t know the colour nomenclature but it’s that blue grey? Most YouTube videos I see have that one. i did get the white storm trooper look lol as soon as i saw it I jumped on it. When I first inquired it had a VIN but no build date. Then a day or two later it had a build date too. So crossing my fingers.
Stage 1 eh? Must resist. Must resist!!!!!!
Thanks man. Appreciate the well wishes. Yeah, it's a bit of a ledge right now with my current S550 in my garage and then balancing the sale / trade of that vs the delivery of the S650. When my kids saw my DH they said why did you buy another black mustang? As I have a modified 06 GT that's black so I know what you mean. But I decided to keep both. As they were both payed for. However I take the DH out a lot more than the GT this summer. Just look forward till you get yours because there great at making stress go away. Thanks man. Appreciate the well wishes.
