So first, I tried to set WAL function in APIM As Built by changing 7D0-09-05-xxxx-*xxxx from 3 to B ? WAL didn't turn on. BCM 726-91-01 already had 1's.

Also, tried to get rid of Seat Belt display on dash in IPC changing 720-13-01 and 720-13-02 to all Zeros. Display changed by not showing seats, but overall Display still there. Not sure getting rid of Display is an option.

Hmm... The seat belt splash removal worked for me and ... I think 2 others. Another poster suggested using another value besides zero but I haven’t confirmed that.

You need to ignition cycle at least once, did you do that?
weird.

So is easy mode, the Splash Display only had options with numbers. Mine was option 2, so i changed to 1. Display no longer shoes seats and no chimes. i had already changed IPC 720-13-01/02 to zeros.

Plus WAL not working changing APIM by enabling Easy Mose WAL. Changed APIM As Built 7D0-09-05 already.

I did not use easy mode for the seat belt splash. Have not bothered with WAL because of all the drama surrounding it.

I used the “old school” way; go to the section in the as-built ; update, check it, write it. cycle ignition. If you look at the update for splash screen I put in the thread, linking to the original, the 2 fields are splash and seat belt minder. I already suppressed the minder ; the flashing icon on the dash - via the youtube method for the F series, the manual is wrong. So I did the splash screen to zeroes. Again, another poster suggested a non-zero value, I have not yet tested that.

WAL worked like this on my converible:
BCM 726-91-01 "xxxx" "x1xx" "xx--"
BCM 726-97-02 "x1x1" "x1x1" "x1--"

Not eveybody has this 726-97-02 line for someone reason though.

Seat belt splash screen:
IPC 720-13-01 "8xxx" "xxxx" "xx--"
IPC 720-13-02 "xx1x" "xx--"
IPC 720-14-01 "1xxx" "xxxx" "xx--"

So i finally got WAL to work. Now I need WALF.

WRT seat beat screen, chime and Seat image gone, but the overall seat belt image is still on dash. Will try 14-01 next to see if it erases entire seat belt image.

Walk away lock feedback is:
726-91-01 xxxx xxx* xx--
0 = off
1 = on

I went back and checked where I found this and there’s some newer/subsequent info for folks wanting different iterations of this. I think you only got a partial update done. I would restore to original values first, DO NOT try and mod this.

See this post: #160
you can read a page or two backwards and forwards, there are others who tried to partially update this and got similar results.

Once you’re back to stock, use non-easy-mode in FORSCAN to make the update, see if that works.

Edit to add:
@Fruitstang already provided the alternate values above, here’s a link to his post in the gigantic FORSCAN thread.

#354

Looking at the Maverick thread, I think this change is one where folks got unpredictable results.
So if you go with non-zero values, you may have some tinkering to do. Remember, you only need to update the 720-13-01 and 720-13-02 fields to whack the splash screen.

So i have tried changing all codes and the seat belt image stays on the screen
Again, seats are gone and no chimes. I have not found an option on the easy mode to change it. I'm using Free Troal Forscan, does that make a difference?
