2024 fully loaded Mustang DH is going for more than a 5-year-old C7 Corvette.

You picked the base model Stringray against the top-of-the-line Mustang. The base price of the top-of-the-line Stingray starts near $80K.
base model with the z51 package... which is all the performance goodies. Combined with the c8 platform being better all around, for the money... vs a marked up dark horse... I'd get that exact spec all day, given how close in price.

That is exactly why I couldnt let my DH get over $70k. My order is at $66K. The C8 I really want is $90k MSRP. So for now I settled for the DH. DH will still be a VERY fun car until I can afford the C8, or whatever is in that price range when I get there.
Personally, I give the C8 thumbs down on safety of heads being decapitated in the car accident even though they look nice and tempting but way too low! I am getting old to bend down to get in and get out too! Mustang is just good for me as if I was to sit down and get up from a table the same! Call me old farts if you want but I ain’t buying a Vette!

Completely understand, the Vette is much lower to the ground. That is what is great about having options (makes, models, and individual options). You can pick whatever you want. I would never call you an old fart. There are a lot of younger people like me that dont like the ride height of the Vette. I know I will love my mustang! Who knows, maybe after owning my Dark Horse I will forget all about the C8.

Buy what you want, so what if you can buy a used car for less. I have Mustangs and a Corvette, they don't serve the same purpose for me.

I’m regards to Mustangs holding their value last year my 2008 GT was y-boned and totaled. Payout from insurance was 22k

It's funny this thread is still going. Just today I was thinking to myself, "I see more new C8s on the road than I do new Mustangs." It's just now 9:00 a.m. and I've already seen two new C8 cars.

How is the C8 selling better than the S650 considering the price difference? That's wild.

Supply. GM has produced an insane amount of C8's in the course of 4-5 years. S650 has only been out for a year. I will also say the differences between a C7 and C8 are way greater than the differences between an S550 and S650. More incentive to get the C8 over an S650.

I've only seen 8-10 new Mustangs and 2 Dark Horses (one had HP, neither had AP) in the wild since 2024 MY released last year.

Question is if you rather have a new DH or a 5 year old C7 GS without warranty ? I know what I rather have...For sure no Auto only C8 that makes even the C7 a good looking vehicle...The C7 is a snappy beast if you push it , or as Randy Pobst called it monkey motion and a leaky seal on trans or engine can easily cost you 4 grand to fix because of the transaxle drivetrain...70 grand for a slightly reworked S550 with track package called DH is steep but the only remaining game in town if you want V8,manual and new car warranty ! Only alternative would be the M2 if you can do without V8 sound...Or 911 GTs or GT3 if you can afford it...Not much hardware left in 2024...

The 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor Wildtrak is going almost $70k at dealerships, so its cheaper to buy a DH than a less horsepower Raptor Wildtrak
There's a black Raptor Bronco @ the local dealership for $94K

Or, you take $65k and buy one of the remaining Hellcat cars. Then you've got a car that has:

- More power
- More torque
- Awesome supercharger noises
- Rear drive/traditional powertrain layout
- Usable interior space/trunk
- Looks bad azz
- Will actually hold value in the future
- Better quality than GM by a mile

Me personally, I'm holding out in my sweet '13 GT Premium to wait and see how this economy/interest rates shake out next year because there could be massive changes over the next 9 months. I'd be happy in a '25 GT Premium. Don't even need the Dark Horse. But either way I'm not paying $55k+ @ 8% for a 2 door impractical car with under 500 HP.

Im kind of curious to see what happens to Hellcat prices in the future.......sweet cars but they built like a million of them.....also....the driving dynamics....

No doubt they are absolutely a monster at the strip....but on the street/ unprepared surface they have a hard time putting down the power....not as enjoyable in my eyes just spinning tires....

I have a really good buddy with one and on a 15 to 70 roll I pretty much stay right next to them ...my front bumper might be at the front of their door.... on a non prep street in Mexico that is....and my car is definitely not a straight line car......

I hear you but you cant get a new HC for 65 grand...Especially not a WB you need if you dont want to kill yourself on the skinny 275s...For 60-65 grand you can get one of the last 6.4 WB Scatpacks even with a 6 speed 6060 Tremec which is the sweet spot of the whole line between traction-power-handling-brakes...Love it unless you want to smoke the tires all the way to 80 miles where they start to grip...LOL Compared the C7 is a snappy at the limit beast , the Camaro the better sports car due to neutral handling but the interior is made by the same people who make the plastic toys for McDonalds Happy Meals and the Mustang has no Torque acerbated by way too tall gearing probably for EPA noise & mpg regs...
