I thought it may be fun to see how many Mustangs some of you mustangheads have had.

This came up as I was reading an unrelated post here on 7G forums where someone mentioned that the '24 would be their third Mustang. I got to thinking how I would answer that question... this could be my first, second, third or fourth Mustang depending on how you look at it. My wife has had three Mustangs, and since I buy them, maintain them and my name is on the title/registration, you could say that they are mine. So, the new '24 would be my fourth one. But my wife had the first mustang before we married, so she bought it and it was only in her name, and I only had to maintain it for a year or two before we got something else. In this case the new '24 would be my third one. If you count all of them as being my wife's car only... she doesn't like me driving her current baby... 2018 in royal crimson (maybe because my right foot is bigger than hers). That would make the new '24 my first Mustang. But her second Mustang (2006) I actually bought for myself... 5 days later, her car had some issues, so I let her drive the new Mustang and never got it back. Since it was mine for five days that would make the new one my second one. I think I will call the new '24 my first, what do you think?

I started my Mustang adventure in the 60’s. I dated a gal who’s father had a ‘65 Pony coupe. He had a ’65 straight 6, 3 on the rug and hardly used it so he let us use it any time we wanted to. I dated her for years just to use the car. I like the car more than her, although she had other uses I enjoyed…
Eventually we parted company.. since then I’ve had a 2009, a 2012 and now 2024. Enjoyed them all.
I only answered 3 in the survey that were actually mine but really I had 4.
I’m now 77 and people look at me like I’m weird crawling out of a Mustang; like what’s that old guy doing driving a Mustang with a handicapped sticker?‘
I ain’t handicapped when I’m driving it..

I have had 2 5.0s now. I always wanted a Mustang and was in a position to get a new 2012 5.0 has a birthday present to myself. It was tough to let her go but felt it was time to get a new car. For a few days I had buyers remorse but after a few months in my 2024 5.0 I am in love.

I've had three now, well three and a half if you sort of count its fox-bodied cousin as I had a Capri RS that I drove through college and for a few years after back in the 80s. First Mustang was a 1966 289 coupe, fairly base model that was my first full 3-year restoration project. Second was a late 1968 302 with lots of options. They're both long gone now. Then this summer I bought this 2024 Ecoboost for errands and commuting and ironically its more powerful than the v8s I had before. Only drawback it doesn't sound as good but I can live with it.

The '86 was my favorite, not because it was the best... but because of how I got it.

17 year old kid... working 2 jobs in high school. Driving a 1980 Ford Fairmont... absolute POS. Everyday I'd drive home and see this '86 LX for sale... sitting on a corner lot. Everyday I'd tell my step-dad about this car and how much I loved it. But we were not wealthy, even though it was $2,500 it was 1993 and that was out of reach. But I loved that car...
One day driving home it was gone. I was a little heartbroken... told my step-dad at dinner the car was gone. Put it out of my mind.. After dinner, Step-Dad asked me to go into garage and grab ice cream from deep freeze we had out there. And there was that car... sitting there, waiting for me. He had saved up extra money so a 17 year old kid could have his dream car.
I drove it for only 5 years before it got totaled out. Didn't realize how much that car meant to me for a long time. Totally ignited my love affair with all Mustangs and there hasn't been a single one I haven't owned without thinking of that old 1986, 2.3L 4 speed manual.

Our first Mustang was a 1980. I believe it was a four-cylinder three speed on the floor white with blue interior. We had to sell it because our son was getting larger and the car was getting smaller. I sold it to a guy that lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming and the next thing I know it got rear ended & total. The gentleman wasn’t hurt thank God.
The 2024 Mustang is unbelievable fun to drive.
