Alright guys, this might be some crazy information.

US and Canadian Mustangs are adviced to use WSS-M2C961-A specification, Motorcraft SAE 5W30.

I found out that European Ford dealerships advice to use WSS-M2C950-A specification , Castrol Magnatec 0w30 . This is a DIESEL engine motoroil!!
The dealership also said that if you want to keep your warranty in Europe, you should stick with that type of engine oil.

What concerns me the most is that this is a diesel engine oil, but many dealerships confirmed that it is indeed a diesel motoroil but engineered with Ford and is the recommended motor oil for the new Mustang GT.

I also don't understand why Europe advices 0W30 while US/Canada advice 5W30.
You can't say that the climate in Europe (in general) is colder than Canada right? LOL.
In the American manual they only advice 0W30 in extremely cold climates -22F/-30C or below.
While in Europe they advice this type of motoroil for every country.

Since I have a US Mustang and since I lost my warranty already because my car is exported out of Canada, I will stick with the Motorcraft SAE 5W30.
I really wonder why European Mustangs need to use different type of engine oil.
I can understand that they have a contract with a European oil manufacturer instead of an American oil manufacturer, but it's not only that.
The type of oil is totally different.

Is it because European Mustangs have the OPF (Otto Particulate Filter) which American Mustangs don't have?

Is it a "diesel" oil like Shell Rotella or is it an oil that meets standards for both gas and diesel?

Diesels are a lot more common in Europe (especially for cars)

A traditional "diesel" oil is thicker than 0W-30, has a lot of zinc/zddp, and more detergents to combat all the soot etc you get in a diesel engine

It probably has to do with the DPF as you mentioned, some new oils that are used in diesels don't have nearly as much zinc

Well, the oil is marked with a D, and it says diesel on it.
Still Ford Europe says this is the motoroil they use for the European Mustang GT.

The European Mustangs have an OPF.
DPF is for Diesel vehicles.

They even "rebranded" the packaging to make it Ford exclusive at the dealership.

Actually, diesel oils have lowered the Zinc content a lot over the past 15 or so years (almost to the point of useless). Diesel oils designed for marine use still have a good amount of zinc however not nearly enough for some applications. Some specialty diesel oils have high zinc concentrations. I run Schaeffer's Supreme 7000 (Race Oil) in my 5.9 Cummins due to heavy duty valve springs required for high boost (Keeps the flat tappets happy). In the past, I ran "Cam Shield" additive along with my oil of choice.
I think I digressed........

@GrabThatBlue ..... stick with Ford 5W-30 FULL synthetic. Ford's base oil is highly refined by Conoco and the viscosity index improvers are form the very highly respected SO oil. Over many years of building automotive and marine engines and having an uncle who was head of Shell oil chemical research I can absolutely state NO WAY will a 0-30 oil ever reach the lubricating values of a 5W-30. Agreed, if you are driving it at -30 it will help to have a zero weight for start-ups but change it as soon as the temps warm up. Next question, someone drives their Mustangs at -30? Geez, get a beater for that weather!

Ford recommends Motorcraft, which works for me.

I guess you missed the point of this thread, unless you are from Europe.

You will loose your warranty in Europe if you don't use the motoroil they recommend. In this case it's the Castrol 0W30.

Yeah, since I lost my warranty already and since my car is Canadian, I'm sticking with the American owners manual. We have Motorcraft oil in Europe as well, but it's less available.
