People are all assuming more sales = better. But maybe not to Ford. Ford's bean counters did the math and are continuing to raise prices because they figured that's how to maximize profit. More profit per Mustang vs more Mustangs sold (they can't have it both ways).

Same principle during the pandemic chip shortage: automakers quit selling as many low-margin econoboxes and favored fully loaded high-end stuff.

All that matters to companies at the end of the day is maximizing profit, and they have armies of Ivy League MBAs constantly optimizing this kind of stuff.

Ahhh so the low sales is what they wanted

Gotcha
It's clear you have absolutely no idea how profit/business works.

Yes its reasonable they could be going for higher profit margin on each vehicle with not as many sales.

You don't think Ford knows they could lower the price and get more sales? Lol Be real.

OK, show me the numbers since you know everything

I thought all of the price increases were because of raw material cost increasing during Covid new labor contract, and the cost of everything just going up?

How much do you think they are really making on each Mustang especially on the lower trim level eco-boost and GT? These are not Raptors or F160's where they're making an enormous profit on each one sold.

Now you're saying it is the cost of everything going up and the mustang is priced just right? That was a quick turn.

Multiple things affect price.

I never said I knew everything... you're the one that was so quick to dismiss a company might be upping the profit margin per sale over sales volumes, which is a legitimate strategy that many companies do.

I never said that. That's what everyone else used for the reason the price increased. Now some people are saying it's just their plan to raise the price to make more money.

So you're saying Ford is making the same or more profit selling 40k Mustangs, than they were when they sold 80-100k?

The only thing I know is that Ford is a cheap ass scammer LOL.

I have the 401A equipment group. This package comes with turn signals in the side mirrors.
My car came without turn signals in the side mirrors.
Reason? I have Recaro seats and this cancels the turn signals because of a different door harness.

So I bought new side mirrors with turn signals and tested it out.
It turned out to be plug and play!!!

So I had to pay 1250 USD for new side mirrors justto get an option that should be already on the car.

If they're making double the profit on the car than when they were a decade ago when they sold 80k-100k, then yes, they're making the same or more lol

I'm sure there's a reason why they're doing what they're doing and why you're not Ford's CEO.

So how much profit do you think they are making off each car sold if they doubled the previous number?

The Mustang is not a low-volume car that they can milk like that.

They are losing their asses right now on warranty and quality issues so I wouldn't really say they know what they are doing.
