I installed my DIYvan kit today. Many thanks for the thread, pix and advice. I even got some of the same RTV adhesive you used here in Perth (Western Australia). I don’t think without this thread I would’ve known about these holes. The best money one can spend on a 2024 Mustang is fixing them. Also thanks to all the others who have chipped in, and of course Hein from DIYvan for bringing this repair kit to the market and providing the clear instructional video. CheersMy RTV adhesive sealent should be her in 2 days from Amazon for my peremiter bead for a final secondary seal on the patch. The fabricator did a excellent job manufacturing the patch.
You're welcome. That's what this forum is for. To help each other. Many have helped me out too !I installed my DIYvan kit today. Many thanks for the thread, pix and advice. No rock guards flaps will cover it.Just curious, has anyone bought mud/rock guards to see if installing those would cover the hole? I would prefer to mechanically fasten something to close the opening rather than gluing a patch.
Thanks for including the QR code! Great job showing each step with the pics!Followed the instructional Video to patch up the holes behind the front tires in the fender well on my new 24 GT. I have some black RTV adhesive sealent on order to put a small bead along the peremeter edges of the patch. I took a bunch of photos of dry fitting the patch with the supplied foam blocks. I let the passenger side set up for 1 hour and then did the drivers side. I put some additional temporary support against the patch when I moved the blocks from passenger side to drivers side. Let both set 3 hours and then removed all temp supports. The patches fit very well. Here is the link to the kit which cost 94 bucks and free shipping: https://diyvan.com/products/2024-fo...r-panels-kit?_pos=1&_psq=mustang&_ss=e&_v=1.0

When you scuff sand the back of the patch material and then use the 2 part epoxy and firmly place the support blocks to press the piece onto the fender and let it cure and seal the edges.with black RTV.....it ain't ever falling off. Plus it looks tight and clean.Could you also drill the piece instead using the glue? Just to make sure it doesn't fall off after a certain time.
I put one poprivet in for security. Like many others have stated, once you glue it in, assuming the area was clean, it isn’t like to come off.Could you also drill the piece instead using the glue? Just to make sure it doesn't fall off after a certain time.

I drove 100km and it had a lot of sand and small rocks. So be prepared what your goibg to find there. Maybe snakes, trees, koala's, gorillas and marmots.Well. warmer weather is "sort of here" in Almost Canada....................time to quit slacking and get my DIYVan fender liner blocks installed.
Got almost 5400 miles on the GT (VERY few dirt/gravel miles), but I'm still planning on dropping the under trays to see how much road grit accumulated in them. And, to check the condition of the leading edges of my unit body pinch rails.
Won't be surprised to see some bare metal due to the road grit (if not; that's a plus!), so I'm planning on using this to cover any bare metal/rust that may be present.

I selected the rattle can version of this as the regular "brush it on can of it" is $30. vs $9. for the rattle can.
