First off, I don't want to start a political thread so please don't go there.

If Trump goes ahead and impose a 25% on all importation from Canada I have a bad feeling that the price of the mustang and other car will go up.

In 2023 you imported around 20B in metal which 11.4 just in aluminum.

So again another price jump, well I believe it will go up.

Of course they will.

I hope everyone is happy now.

Just glad I purchased when I did.

Iā€™m actually more concerned about the price of natural gas since we get 99% from Canada. That could really hurt.

I hope it does, small price to pay to keep the USA safe, keep your eye on the big picture. Sorry this thread is absolutely political.

Safe from... Canadians? Is this how they're twisting this shit now? I stopped paying attention to the propagandists years ago.
Itā€™s their bacon.

The coyote engine is produced in Canada right?
Coyote is made in Windsor, Ontario at the Essex Engine plant. If automotive products are on the US list then yes, things are about to get a lot more expensive. I don't believe any automotive stuff is on the INITIAL Canadian response but it may be part of Phase 2 which kicks in at the end of February.

Sad situation we, regardless of which nation we call home, find ourselves in but it is what it is and we will all get through it as best we can. The saddest part is that people, on both sides, who have never worked a hard day in their life, are the ones calling the shots for everyone else and you can bet we, the American and Canadian people, the bulk of our nations, will be the ones footing the bills.

Yeah, my buddy works at the Windsor plant. I know for sure they make both Coyote and 7.3L blocks. Probably others too.

Let's hope that Canada and Mexico cave, as they will most likely. Nobody knows for sure, until prices go up. So, let's stop playing financial experts.

Also, don't forget, we had Janet Yellen, the secretary of treasury, who "thought that inflation would be transitory". Remember that.

People are more worried than what the actual reality will be..
Market doesnā€™t seem to care, SPY opened down -1.5%, Ford pullback around 3%, GM is a little uglier closer to 5%..

but the tell is treasuries, TLT actually is bid up, so yields are dropping on this.

the market expects longer term this is slightly deflationaryā€¦ not inflationary.

now media and people can spin stories for narrativesā€¦ but the market doesnā€™t lie.

this is a nothingburgerā€¦.

im gonna go buy some crypto now, which has been being a drama queen about this all weekend
