Prochargers back in the mid-2000s were terrible......I had four new P-1SC heads in 150K miles on my '04 Marauder and ALL leaked badly........messy, noisy and ya gotta get to 3K RPM before anything happens..........personally I WOULD NEVER HAVE ANOTHER ONE......EVER!!:explode:

Well just found out can’t have long tube cat less headers and have a ProCharger……. They said it might make it run weird.

What I like about the Pro-Charger option is that you keep the strut tower brace.

When I had my 2006 with the V6 I had the Xcharger on it and a friend had the Pro-Charger on his. Both of us had convertibles so similar cars. At the drag strip what I liked with the roots style was I had the advantage off the line because of the low end torque - but he had the advantage at the top end because the Pro-Charger keeps building power while a roots type will top out; so around the 1/8 he was catching me and still building power. With the Whipple I believe you have the same thing, lots on the low end but the Pro-Charger likely builds more power on the top end.
The Whipple will pull to redline. You won't be missing anything.

The Procharger will just have nothing down low.

I really wanted a procharger 18 MONTHS AGO!!!

a D1X would’ve been a perfect blower, they just couldn’t bring a kit to market in time.

Went with whipple when they released, even got the new tune update, car checked off every goal on my list.

Depends, seems like most people are going with Whipple. Procharger sounds pretty badass though.
I’ll be post photos of yalls wheels on my vehicle soon and ProCharger said they don’t know if the long tune catless headers will work so I’m gonna have to go Whipple

I called pro charger today. Said I’d have to put the stock exhaust back on. Said the kit is tuned to the stock exhaust and that I’d have to take off the long tube headers.

That seems like a major blunder by ProCharger. They need to have varying levels of the tune for added mods.

Something doesn’t sound right with that. I’d hit up one of the ProCharger reps in the s650 groups. I think all these companies are piggy backing off the original Whipple tune anyway.

@JimC .....I agree 100% - keeping the strut tower brace is massive and becomes even more important imo the more HP and torque your engine generates. Everyone I know who has added a strut tower brace says they can "feel" the difference. IF I did any engine mod that eliminated the OEM Ford cross engine strut tower brace I would find a way to do a custom welded work around. Yes with the s650 you still have the firewall to individual strut brace pieces but imo the cross tower brace is essential to a healthy and safe front end.

I have had both kits and here is my experience.

whipple is the correct answer. no "boost varies with RPM" weirdness, more power, the power is more consistent, you get a warranty, no waiting for tuning to be unlocked
There really is no weirdness with the Procharger, you hear this a lot but once you drive one there really is not that much of a different between the two. Except the initial hit.

I have experience with procharger on a gen 1 coyote. Both will give you more than enough power but I find the procharger makes cooler noises if that matters. Also offers a more exciting driving experience.
Prochargers do sound unique, more of a bad belt on an old car. I even had BADBELT as my plate on my Procharger Mustang. The Big Red Race Valve really makes them stand out though and I will agree when equipped with it, it does sound better than the Whipple IMO.

What I like about the Pro-Charger option is that you keep the strut tower brace.

When I had my 2006 with the V6 I had the Xcharger on it and a friend had the Pro-Charger on his. Both of us had convertibles so similar cars. You're not really going to lose much body stiffness removing the strut bar when we have the 2 beefy strut to firewall mounts. IMO this is a non-issue and talked about throughout the previous years.

The Whipple will pull to redline. You won't be missing anything.

The Procharger will just have nothing down low.
This is not really true. As I have said the initial hit might be different, but both will make enough power that traction can be an issue in the first few gears. You will never feel there is nothing down low with a Procharger, atleast I didn't.

I called pro charger today. Said I’d have to put the stock exhaust back on. Said the kit is tuned to the stock exhaust and that I’d have to take off the long tube headers.
You will most likely get the same response from Whipple about headers. I have in the past. Does it mean you can't run them, no. They are just not tunes for them.
As far as telling you not to run a catback then you spoke to someone that doesn't know what they are talking about.

IMO Whipple still is on top for me, you will not get a better tuned FI kit, with great customer service.
