IIRC, the A10 GT is a tick under 4 seconds to 60, and about 12.2 seconds in the 1/4. In whose world is that not considered fast?
That's what a manual M2 does, the autos run 11.6@121mph.
Hopefully this will still be the case for the S650.
When I talk to FRPP almost a year ago they said that it would be included with the ProCal.

The minimum cost is going to be about $700 from someplace like Lethal, Dealer MSRP closer to $900 if it is just software and the interface.

Add filters or throttle bodies and expect to dig real deep.

Unless it is a big HP gain, like 50+ I'm not dropping that much money for 20 to 30 HP

Frankly I don't know how much HP these 10R80 transmissions can take and still be reliable in 70K miles.. They don't seem to have a lot of nice things said about them in stock applications or even in other Ford products with less HP and torque.

With 3/36 warranty exposure for Ford they are hoping the cars will age out of warranty before they get any claims.

If Ford had to back these things for 7/70 they would not be offering these things.

There’s a ton of videos if you do a YouTube search. I’d say most reputable places say there’s a gain.

I have plenty of time slips that show removing the carbon traps resulted in Zero gains on my car at the drag strip.

The S650 is trapping nearly 2mph more on the 1/4 with 20 more HP, One would expect nearly 1-mph gain on the 1/4 with 10hp+.

Didn't happen.

That's why I say that when people say "they can feel the difference" it's just a placebo effect.
Especially if you put an H-pipe on it, the car will "feel" faster.

I can’t argue, that’s good real world results on the drag strip for sure.
I just didn’t see the need for them , not a big advocate of bullshit emissions crap on the car I can easily remove is all,

If you do it properly it’s super easy and no risk to Mass air flow sensor no need to even disconnect tube from throttle body.Ana no cutting of any plastic required. Just don’t be a dumbass is all.
40 minutes start to finish last night with finding the proper nut drivers which was prob 10 min.. lol
Why not is the real question.
the big issue is most eff up the mass airflow that's where the CEL lights come from and other issues. Popped mine out with no problems i have a mt car it helped a bit with throttle response.

That's the whole issue with those carbon traps. One says no, the other says yes.
The only thing I know is that some people got a check engine light after temoving them.
Could be by damaging their sensor, or some other calibration that is not reading well after removing them.

So for this cause, I'm not going to risk a check engine light for something that is not really proven to be accurate.
i removed the carbon traps from mine one day after i took it home, probably less than 50 miles on it. 570 days and 27300 miles later, it has caused no issues for me

the 10R80 is a stupid strong transmission. sure, the software could use some work, but the actual hardware is fantastic. if you look up build kits for it, you will really only find clutch packs, usually for those who start toasting them near 900hp. maybe a valve body, flex plate, and/or torque converter if you are going for power over anything and everything else. the 10R80 was also used in the Raptor R.

my point is, factory power is easy mode for the 10R80, and its even able to handle 815hp well enough that Ford Performance will still give you a 3 year 36k mile warranty, and having dealt with Ford's warranty, that's saying a lot about their confidence in it (its a lot). you have nothing to worry about

It’s also about throttle response and torque in the mid-rpm’s not just hp at 7000rpms
I just installed h-pipe, high flow filters and removed traps yesterday… ton of HP gain, probably not but can I feel a difference in how it drives, absolutely yes
H-pipe: you changed a pipe for another, zero hp gains here (it's just the sound and some weight).
air filters (or box): we have already plenty of "air", much more than what the stock engine needs really, again it could change the sound, no hp gains.
carbon traps: it has been already proven that there's no gain (for the same reason mentioned above), someone said +1hp gain, but that's just impossible to measure.

What you are experiencing is a placebo effect. :)

I'm curious about the wheels/speedometer adjustment and the gear ratio, does the speed limiter works with the speedometer or it has something more? If you intentionally set smaller wheels or gear ration (showing the wrong speed), does the speed limiter kicks in at higher (effective) speed?

They only "warranty" the transmission for $2,000

Also, let's not pretend those stage 1 Whipple kits (the ones with the "warranty") actually make 815 horsepower.

On 93 those cars only make 650-660 wheel.

19% drivetrain loss? No way. These cars should be making 700+ if they were making 815hp

Remember these cars were 480hp from the factory, and are known to make 420 at the tire bone stock. 12% loss.

And the 10R80 is so "stupid strong" that Whipple warns you to not dyno the car in 6th or 7th, and leave the 155mph speed limiter on it so you can't even go WOT into 7th...

nice find......on the S550 ....while the gains were not as much as the E85 aftermarket tunes....were very nice for 91 tune....and covered by warranty..... depending on price could be a solid upgrade....
