Does anyone know if installing an X pipe would cause a check engine light? I got this recently installed and today is the first day seeing this. Seems to run fine.

Do you think if the clamps weren’t installed right a small exhaust leak would cause it?
Nah that wouldn't cause a code. You can remove your mufflers if you want and not throw a code. Do you have active exhaust?

Yes it has the active exhaust.
Might want to check the wire connections at the exhaust tips to sure they aren't lose/damaged

Or, if you just want to pull codes, a cheap standard OBD 2 scanner from Amazon will work.

Throwing a code after installing the Steeda X-Pipe is not typical.

Best,

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have to take the car in for a few other things soon so I’ll probably just ignore this for now since it’s running fine.

if you PM me your VIN, i can check Ford's system and see what code it is, plus possible fixes for it

looks like you have a P0430 code, Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold Bank 2. the dealer will end up needing the vehicle for a day or two to do the workshop manual tests and find the cause. could be anything from a loose connector to needing a new catalytic converter. in any case, this has nothing to do with the X pipe and is more likely just bad timing in terms of events
