What is a “ward salad”?
So we are making excuses why it is a turd on the drag strip now?
Show me where these adjustments made a 6M DH go 11s- post the video. I guess a 6M DH needs a Whipple now to beat an A10 GT and other cars of the like.
Dude put the crack pipe down and quit apologizing like last weeks debate.
You are correct, any manual car of same weight is going to need a substantial HP increase to beat an A10 equipped car consistently. Thats why people who go to the drag strip to compete buy A10s.

And the Terminator did it with 50-100hp less, depending how you measure it, an ancient chassis with an IRS shoehorned in it, antiquated traction control, and the aerodynamics of a u-haul!
Interesting, isn't it? All valid points - well, except maybe the aero - the Dark Horse appears to have even worse aero. I think the big thing that the aftermarket should really push for with this generation is lightweighting EVERYTHING that can be lightweighted.

The Terminator was heavy for its day, but the new cars get really heavy whenever anything related to performance is optioned.

Terminators are not as fast as you’re remembering…. They maybe ran a 12.9 and most owners were in the low 13s.

put a whipple on and make over 600rwhp… and you got a high 11 second car, barely competitive with N/A GT’s.

Mine went 12.81 off the showroom floor with no mods.

Turns out a car set up for a track with tires designed to be driven on a track doesn't work as well on the drag strip. Good video, but this car is clearly meant to be taken to places like track days or your local SCCA event.

We have more testing to continue to showcase the on-track performance. But yes, this is more of a track car, and we wanted to see what it could do at the strip for product development purposes.

What are the times of the non track pack auto Dark Horse down the 1/4 mile. Have not seen any test on them.

incorrect. Lots of mid 12bone stock. And that was without the benefit of a quick shifting automatic.

the big issue with high horsepower terminators at the time was wheel spin and wheel hop. That was the only holdup with respect to blazing times. There was a guy running in the 10s on a just a ported Eaton after addressing the IRS bushings.

the terminators were monsters. But they suffered from having an IRS that didn’t have decades of proving, unlike the newer cars.
What’s interesting is a lot of v8 s650s are running 13s - especially manuals.

all mustangs can get some poor times when the power is added on - if traction isn’t gained, time is lost due to wheel spin.

certainly the Mustang platform should be far superior to the Teeminator by now. But dang if 486-500 horsepower doesn’t seem to show much improvement for it. That’s 96-110 hp more. And it goes about the same to a little faster. Crazy.

that said, glad the OP is showing what the new car does baseline so owners can get the parts needed to pump it up.

BS! There was never an 03-04 Cobra running 10s with JUST a ported blower and IRS bushings. I owned and worked at a Ford dealer back then. Plenty ran 10s with a laundry list of mods attached to them.

Oh… I thought you said they couldn’t go that fast… LOL. Btw, whippled Terminators run 9s. Sure you see some 10s and then some slower, but a setup Terminator is not the dog you’re pretending it is.

thete is another site known for a healthy terminator following… won’t post it here out of respect, but one of the members was going 10s on a ported Eaton (and aforementioned Zirs Reinforcement). Not sure what else he did with lightweighting etc, but it’s a real deal.

You can see slow cars in every generation. Including the current one. But in the hands of capable drivers, things change.

the Terminator was legit quick from the factory - faster even than the Corvette of the same time.

As for the Dark horse, it’s decently fast for its day. But it’s kind of a big letdown that a 455 hp 2016 Camaro SS is faster in a straight line.

I’d never own a Camaro as I’m a Mustang guy and I’m not sold on the s650 generation. It will likely take a new Cobra or GTD to make this generation exciting. So I’m looking forward to seeing what results the team at Steeda has cooked up for the DARK HORSE, GT., etc.

they’ve been massively improving the Mustang for a long time.

I had an 03 Cobra and an 04 Z06. The Z06 was quicker stock for stock.
03 Cobra ran 12.81 and put down 381 RWHP weight-?
04 Z06 ran 12.44 and put down 363 RWHP weight 3055

It’s sad the 2024 DH is quicker than cars 20+ years older. Sure A lot of things are better in every way EXCEPT 1/4mi performance.

As I said my 2024 LT1 will crush a 6M DH in a drag race and probably still beat an A10. With that said the A10 PP is the car to get. You get 95% DH for THOUSANDS less.

Lol

Dude...do you know how many bus lengths I would put on the S660's and S550's I would come across last year when I had my Whipples Cobra? And that was only a 2.3 on pump...

You're talking about 7-8 second 60-130 to 11-13 seconds...
