Oh, absolutely, every car brand raised prices 10%+ with the 2025 MY, the more popular brands 20%+, so the competing cars have gotten pricier too. My niche build no longer exists, so I'd be looking at $64k+ GT Premium Convertible with MagneRide.
Really? BMW only raised the price of the M2 by ~$1800 compared to Ford’s price increase of the DH Premium. Ford already had a value proposition problem with the DH Premium + Recaros +HP in 2024 when competing against the BMW M2 and C8. This recent price increase bolsters that argument.

Maybe there will be more/better incentives for Mustang buyers sooner rather than later? 😅

In 2017, I bought an brand new 2017 Ford F-150 that came with $10,000 off MSRP incentive compared to only getting between $500-$1000 off of my Mustang's MSRP a few months back.

The M2 only went up $1.8k. I would have taken the Yellow which is a no charge paint option, so my build would only be $1200 more.

Unrelated but I’ve read a lot of your posts on mustang6g and your videos may inspire me to do a switch fire paired with the sport mufflers or S type mufflers in the future on my dark horse. Hope you’re enjoying your M2!
You will be thrilled with it. I had the Ford Racing by Borla Sport. I am loving the M2.

I've read that the CEO is a Porsche guy and It's commited to turn the Mustang into a niche sportscar, somewhat exclusive.

Seems to be aiming in that direction. Looking only at what's happening.
It will also hurt depreciation, since a 65k - 70k car bought at 7%, when it hits the lot again in 2 years, what would be the price/payment?
52k @ 12% = +1000 payments.

Now with the Camaro and Challenger gone, he has the road open to go in that direction. The remaining competition is niche (M cars, AMG, JDM's, etc...). Not very popular cars by production numbers.

Lastly adding to the mix that the regulations make manufacturers downsize engines and power, to keep the mustang going they have to sell less. GM decided to kill the camaro and use the V8 engines production to big Luxury SUV's.
Ford probably will play between F series and Mustang to allocate the coyotes. If F series sells more, less Gt's and vice versa.

Unfortunately for Ford, you can't just increase your price to get there. You actually need to make a better product to go along with it.

Yeah he’s talked about how iconic the name is and wants to essentially do what Porsche does with the 911.

But he’s kind of everywhere with that logic. Looks like I have to save a little more, would’ve been less of a blow to me if they offered the tremec in the GT. Lol

As a life-long Mustang owner who has owned every generation of Mustang except the S650 (pricing/features alone dictated my option not to buy it), there is no way in hell that car is worth the increase and what Ford is pricing it at...

Ecoboost starts at 32k and GT starts at 45k. You barely can find a civic on a dealership lot for under 30k.

So if you want a V8, it's worth $45k.

You guys are probably too focused on MSRP…

Think payments over 84 months …. It’s like maybe a 50 dollar hike… the accountants are smart and perhaps they’re finding the absolute limit of balancing margins vs revenue.

anyways highly recommend buying a 24gt and a whipple.

My car as a 2025 went up $3500 dollars, and the red I have is now discontinued.

Still stuck with a black roof and dark interior, no lighter colors like my 07 GT ragtop had, which makes a big difference in Florida trust me

Monthly payments are higher now too because of the high interest rates. You’d have to find a really good dealer or credit union or get lucky to get a finance rate below 7%. With those high rates, cash is king, so you’re incentivized to put down a massive down payment or pay cash fully. You’d have to be an investment king to say with confidence the money you put in investments will beat the 7% finance rate

I keep a pretty close eye on the car market as its related to my job. Where I live (Canada), it always seems cars beyond the $70K price point tend to move very slowly around here.

I remember seeing some fully specd out 2023 Mach 1s on dealer lots that had been there nearly 400 days. Dealers kept discounting them from mid $80k (Canadian) down to low $70k and they finally sold. Will be interesting to see how nothing special 2025 GT models are going to do at these new price points.

Manufacturers tend to forget that incomes haven't grown at the same pace as general inflation and there's more competing costs vs. disposable income for the average person especially over the last couple of years. Nobody needs a sports car, toy car, summer car, whatever you want to call it.

I think that the 2025s will still sell ok as the majority of people in North America are financially irresponsible and are willing to finance anything. Me personally, the appeal of a $75K (Canadian) out-the-door (after tax) base model GT PP/active exhaust with cloth seats is definitely a no go. I've got the cash but the value proposition just isn't there anymore so I'm out.
