It helps having way more power and having the ability to go 161mph down the straight where the other cars are only going 145, it's a big fast track

this is a scam. 300A GT is ~$49k before tax and registration. whipple kit that makes 815hp with a 3 year 36k mile warranty is ~$13k including installation. you now have a GT350 rival for $52k. of course, upgraded suspension and half shafts is recommended, as is brembos when you're going that fast. brings the GT up to $53k since you need either GTPP or Nite Pony to get the brembos, $1000 for a nice suspension setup before install, $2300 for some strong halfshafts, $1000 for a Torsen LSD so you can not have to worry about toasting your clutch packs from the wheelspin, $2000 for some drilled and slotted rotors, $2000 for custom seat upholstery. means its now just over $71k for a GT350 equivalent

I wouldn't trade my 350 for it because I want a manual transmission and not in love with the front end.. but what a car!

Guess I need to go back and re-read. I wasn’t aware they were building a non-SC version.

OK, I looked. They briefly mention a 480 hp version but it isn’t on their build and price. I’m gonna say it isn’t happening. And if it did it’d have to cost more than a DH to make it a Shelby, right? I just bought two new DHs with the HP for $68K each within the last week to a month. Granted they’re ‘24s but who cares? And why bite on 480 hp when you can have 500? I really don’t think there’s room in the marketplace for a non-SC GT350. A HP DH is an unbelievable car to see and drive. I‘m not sure if it could get any better. It’s a fully integrated package designed by top-shelf engineers. I don’t think an expensive Shelby tart-up graphics package is gonna make it any better. Plus, they actually start off with a GT in the first place.

Obviously time will tell but I just can’t see it.

Yeah, I bet they rethink it.

As much flack as they caught for the supercharged version, I’m betting they figure the non-SC version gets even more since it doesn’t actually go faster.

In my opinion, the criticism is unwarranted. It’s a rad car and comes with a warranty. I was an early critic myself. But the more I thought about it it through, it’s Ford thst deserves the blame with s650 pricing across the board.

But it is what it is.

I would love to see Joe the dark horse shakra out compared to the gt350. I’m getting it would be close NA. BUT the supercharged version exceeds the power a whipple dark horse makes from what I’ve seen either Fords approved kits.

Too bad we can’t tune these cars like we always have. Thst would really make this comparison interesting. I think the dark horse can handle boost a little better then the standard GT ENGINE. They’re mostly the same but a couple of the internet’s are stronger in the dark horse.

You thinking about adding a whipple? Or just curious about the NA comparison?

Personally, NA, I think your car takes it or at least evens it out. 500 hp vs 480 and probably end up weighing around the same. May negate any suspension advantage tje gt350 has. Really would love to see an apples to apples shootout.
